Well, I just got a text from my office manager that she's been up all night throwing up. I hope it's not the flu, but anyway, I told her to stay home. My business partner is in town, so I guess he and I will cover the office today.
How's that for plans?  Undecided
Not good.  Hope you've had your flu shot this year.  And hope she's well soon.
Did you play golfball this weekend?

I played yesterday. Shot 86. Not bad.
Below average for you.

My woodworking buddy reported that his elderly mother, in an apparent act of support for Tua, fell and broke her hip.
She's recovering in the hospital in NY.
 Sad

Oh man! That's tough. Hope she'll be ok.

Got rain here. I have to take my business partner to the dentist, then I'll go buy some Lysol spray and spray down the office. You asked me about the flu shot; I don't take them. They are developed after last year's strain, or one from another country, and it's obsolete by the time it's developed here. Plus, I know what's in them.

I don't take the flu shot either,  and I've developed a really good immunity.  About two years ago, the wife and kids (who all had the flu shot) got the flu.  I ended up taking care of them, and never got sick.

Not that I'm an anti-vaxer.  I think most vaccines are pretty much essential.  And the flu shot is good for those at risk of serious consequences from the flu.  But you have to balance risk.  And the risk to me of the flu itself is small compared to the risk of potential side effects from the shot, which can be quite devastating.

Like 2 says, the flu shot itself is a guess, and an outdated one at that by the time manufacturing and distribution are complete.  The flu virus mutates regularly, and I have concerns that the shot may encourage this mutation.

But if you risk experiencing significant ill effects from the flu, the shot is a good choice to make.

Good morning folks.  I'm back to work this morning but will be leaving around 9 to go to the doctor with Dad.  My oldest brother and I are coordinating with each other to go with Dad to all of his Dr. appointments now.

On Saturday I got a phone call but didn't recognize the number calling.  Normally I don't answer those but this time I did.  It was the doctor that sewed up my leg and then removed the stitches this past Thursday.  She said she was thinking about me and couldn't remember removing all of the stitches that the medical notation indicates so she wanted me to come back in so she could make sure.  I went in after the Bama game and had her deaden the area before digging around in there.  Sure enough, she was able to find one and remove it.   It is healing up but slowly.  Better than not at all though...

Hope your office manager gets well soon 2.

Well it is cold here on the knob but not as bad as it has been. I do pray you all have a blessed day and I am glad NALT she found those other stitches and got them out. RTR!

Good morning, all.  It's Monday again.  It sounds like some of your weeks have gotten off to rocky starts.  I hope things improve!

I think I have three different Thanksgiving meals at work this week.  I may skip all of them but one.  It's too early to feel bloated and miserable with Thanksgiving still 10 days away.

Good morning.  Coffee

It's Monday, and it's cold (still).  Hope you all find a warm pacle to spend the day.

I visited with a friend out in the country yesterday.  We walked the woods with his dogs, carried firewood to the house, and did the good ole backwoods stuff people do out in the woods.  Saw a coyote, but not much other wildlife.  Nice day to be out until the clouds came and it got cool.

Today it's back to the gym and the usual weekday grind.

Your plans?
Why did the movie Deliverance come to mind when reading that?

Oh, how I hope that isn't the "good ole backwoods stuff" that y'all were doing...

My family has gotten the flu shot for this year.  We had to wait on getting Runt his because it was just a day or so before he had to get a Remicade infusion.  So he got his this weekend.  He probably should have had it first since his immune system is a bit compromised due to him having Ulcerative Colitis.

Good Tuesday morning everybody. Cruising closer to the weekend and Thanksgiving. Mrs 2 and I will be heading to P'cola on Friday and will be there for the week. Really looking forward to the break.

What kind of plans do y'all have for Thanksgiving?

Good morning.  Coffee

My calendar has just one entry today: dental appointment.  Just a cleaning this time, and I get to hear all about my hygienist's (Madison) new baby.  Sounds like lots of fun, eh?

It's not as cold today, almost 50 already.  Rain coming tomorrow or Thursday.  It may be an outdoor day (after appointment).

Tomorrow a buddy and I are going to Holly Springs, MS to visit with a guy who just opened a new antique store.  It's more of a museum.  He's stocked it with his lifetime collection of Indian arrowheads, beaded clothing, peace pipes, old guns, and plenty more.  I went by briefly last Friday.  Lots of cool stuff.

Nope.  Next one is mid-December.
Thanksgiving plans: We're having a family gathering with LF's parents, our son, and his wife.  Should be fun.  BTW, I read on the surf fishing report that folks are catching pompano now.  You might check it out while in Pensacola.

Weather permitting, Darrell and I may give it a shot. We were also talking about fishing the bay for Flounder.

Take a net.  Flounder have a whipping response just as you lift them or tow them onto the beach, and they often escape unless netted.
