Sorry I'm late checking in. We had quite a scare last night. We were shooting off fireworks and a rocket fell over and went sideways. One of the sparks hit my grandson in the eye. We were obviously mortified, but luckily, it hit the corner of his eye at the eyelid. It's a little swollen today, but his eyesight is fine. In fact, we just got back from watching Toy Story 4. I can tell you this, I don't ever want to go through anything like that again.

Wow, glad to hear everything will be ok. I heard on the news this week of a girl that had an M80 go off in her hand. I guess I was very lucky in the past years doing the fireworks, we did some very stupid things with them. I love to watch them but I have a lot more respect for them now that I am OLD. Pray

Good morning folks.  It is just 10 till 11 here in Kodiak and my sleeping and eating schedules are all screwed up.  Gotta do what I gotta do though... I'm fixing to get a shower and go to bed though.  I hope to do some fishing again tomorrow.  Maybe I'll be able to catch a nice Silver or Red Salmon...hopefully...If not then I'll be happy to catch some Dolly Varden…

Hope you all have a great day...

Good Saturday morning. Went to bed early last night after very little sleep the night before. And now I'm up early.

Grandson is doing well, and it looks like he's quickly on the mend. No one is more relieved than I am.

NALT, sorry to hear about your sleeping woes. I'm guessing you're probably getting at least about 20 hrs of daylight up there. Get you some black-out or aluminum foil to put over your bedroom window(s). That may help.

Good morning, all.  Coffee

Glad your grandson is okay, 2.  Scary stuff.  We also did some stupid things with fireworks when we were young, as Jamos said, so I guess we were just lucky.

NALT, please catch a fish and see a bear.  You'll sleep better!

Another big earthquake hit California.  Love the line about the "cows freaking out".  My fishing buddy there said his parrot was going crazy.

It always amuses me when Californians are surprised when there is an earthquake.

Poor parrot.  I am getting enough sleep, just not at the time that I am used to getting it...I was actually up this morning at 6:00 but just laid there for a few minutes.  Next thing I know it is 9 am.  Yesterday was foggy all day.  The fog finally lifted last night around 9:30-10:00.  Just looking out at the harbor and yep, foggy again...   I guess that is normal for here though...Maybe it will make it more difficult for the Salmon and Dolly Varden to see me...

True, except we can outrun a hurricane.

This ^  Plus we normally have at least a weeks notice that it is coming.  They don't EVER know when those earthquakes are coming until it is too late...

Heading back to Greenville this morning. Looking forward to some nice, normal upper 90s temps with only 90% humidity. The high here the last 2 days was 101. I don't need to tell you about the humidity.

Y'all have a great day!

Good morning folks.  Hope you have a safe trip 2. I'm off work today again so I'm hoping to maybe do some more fishing/bear searching.  I've been here two weeks already and haven't seen the first bear.  Starting to believe that they are just a myth...
