Good morning folks.  I went with two other folks that I'm working with yesterday on a hike to see some bears.  Didn't know it was going to be a hike but when we got to the parking lot there were a couple women fixing to head off down the trail.  They told us that the beach was only about 1-1/2 miles.  So we gathered our stuff and headed off the same direction they went.  3.35 miles later we finally got to the beach.   Didn't see any bears either.  We did see some bear scat though so we definitely know they are in the area.  But then again, this IS Kodiak, AK so there are bears here... Anyways, it was a really nice hike and even though we were tired and hungry when we got back to the car, we really enjoyed it.  The Pink Salmon run is supposed to start soon so when that does I'm sure I'll get my chance to see some bears...

Chech, safe travels. You've got a long way to go. Gonna be a lot of holiday travelers on the road, so keep your eyes open.

Mrs 2 and I will be encountering that tomorrow. In fact, I almost bought the farm yesterday. A lady in a mini-van ran a red light as I had already pulled out to make my turn. It was at a blind intersection due to a curve, and she was doing about 60. I stood up on the brakes and she swerved around me, just barely missing me. Glad I was wearing my brown pants.

Good morning folks.  We have a beautiful morning breaking here.  the water in the harbor is as smooth as glass.  I wish that I could go looking for bears today but I gotta go work.  Yesterday I went fishing to a small lake with a couple of people that live here on Kodiak.  I didn't catch anything but it was fun just the same.  Later we went to a beach where we sat on the ground picking up small pieces of broken glass that the sea has tumbled and smoothed out.  After I left them I went to the city pier (commercial pier) to fish again.  I managed to catch 7 Rock fish, 3 Ling cod, 1 small Halibut, and 1 Starfish.  It was so amazing.  Definitely going to visit that spot again while I'm here but I'm also going to try some of the streams for some of the various Salmon making their runs up river.

Glad you were able to avoid the accident 2. You and the Mrs. be very careful when you hit the roads tomorrow.  Safe travels for Chech too.  I hope everyone else has a safe and wonderful day...

I was up all night till about 5AM this morning with the toothache. Nearest appt. I can get is with Aspen on Wednesday. Wow I need prayers. You all please be safe don't want to lose any of our great friends and Tide fans. I would like to see some practice reports now only 30 days remaining. RTR!

Prayers for you, Preacher. A toothache pain can be terrible. My parents used to use a numbing gel you can rub on that kills the pain well. It's still being sold but I can't remember the name. A pharmacist probably knows. Good luck to you.

Thanks OT. I called every dentist in Heflin, Anniston, Oxford, and Piedmont and the nearest appt. is on Wednesday so I am going to try and live that long  .

We're leaving for P'cola around 11:00 this morning. My office manager has been on vacation, so I have to go in long enough to get her up to speed. Will be stopping in Valley, Al to pick up fireworks to make my grandson happy. He says Florida fireworks are lame. 

I hope all of y'all have a great Independence Day on Thursday!

Just heard from Chech. He made it to Omaha last night. Hwy 2 is still under water and closed at the Missouri River. He had to detour north. He plans to be home before dark tonight.
