Hey NALT  I am glad your scenes are really good. Hope the work is going great also. I know Alaska is cold just how much snow is there now? lol, you be safe in that stuff and have fun. RTR!
Lol, the temps have been in the mid-to-high 50's at night and warming into the mid 70's in the daytime.  The only snow on Kodiak is high in the mountains.

Happy Independence day!

Change of plans for us. My oldest daughter gets off work at 3:00. Instead of eating BBQ, we will be going to the restaurant where Breddy works and eat with her. Then back to the house to shoot the fireworks.

Gonna chill til then.  Cool

Here's a photo I took last night at the Oxford celebration of the 4th.  Fun evening.  We sat at the baseball stadium.  The rain held off until after the show, then it fizzled.

Good morning folks. I went over to a small community gathering in Chiniak, AK yesterday.  They had a pot-luck lunch then followed that with a parade of ATV's decorated with red, white, and blue.  After that I went towards Kodiak looking for some bear in the flats.  Nothing.  So a friend and I stopped to see if there were any Salmon moving up a small river.  We saw several Dolly Varden trout but they wouldn't hit anything.   Sad

Hey, NALT, the BBC just carried a report on the "heat wave" in Alaska, with Juneau expected to hit the 80s. Just want to make sure you're planning on cooling it in some mountain stream.

I'm afraid that "aggression" isn't until AFTER they're hooked... They can be finicky... Wink

No, just spinner lures.  My buddy did manage to snag one though.  It did put up quite the aggressive fight.  But who wouldn't put up a fight if hooked in their rear end?

Sorry I'm late checking in. We had quite a scare last night. We were shooting off fireworks and a rocket fell over and went sideways. One of the sparks hit my grandson in the eye. We were obviously mortified, but luckily, it hit the corner of his eye at the eyelid. It's a little swollen today, but his eyesight is fine. In fact, we just got back from watching Toy Story 4. I can tell you this, I don't ever want to go through anything like that again.

Shocked  Wow, that had to be scary for all of y'all, especially Grand2.  Glad he is ok though...

This is the first 4th of July that can remember that I DIDN'T see or hear any fireworks.  Hard to believe huh?  True story though...

That event with 2's grandson reminds me of when I was a small child.  Dad had bought some firecrackers and we were shooting them.  He let me hold one as he lit it and then expected me to throw it as he and my brothers had been doing.  I didn't.  I held onto it. And held it.  Until Dad figured out that I wasn't going to throw it so he quickly slapped it out of my hand.  It blew only a few inches from my hand.  I wasn't hurt thankfully.  I also don't remember that happening which is an indication as to how young I was.  I only relayed the story that I've heard my dad and brothers tell it...

I should have never been allowed to hold it...
