Kudos to the Braves, it wasn't a pretty win but it counts in the W column. I can't say enough about Kimbrell, he is one tough pitcher.

Fox said he has 62 strikeouts in 30 innings of work. The kid is amazing. Glad he made the all-star team and really hope he stays healthy.

He is just nasty with his pitches. I also think that McCann does a job behind the plate with him, he gives him some great targets to throw at and really digs out his low pitches.

McCann is a great catcher, both offensively and defensively. He really knows how to spot the plate.

The Braves have just traded for a shortstop, Paul Janish.

Janish, 29, has a .221 batting average with seven homers and 70 RBIs in 324 big league games.
"He's a proven defensive talent," Atlanta general manager Frank Wren said. "And we felt like, for our club, that was the most important aspect of the acquisition."

Looks like all "D", no "O".

Maybe he knows how to bunt, that would be something that none of the others can do.

You could probably bunt with your walker better than the Braves, Preacher.  Wink

Directv has free MLB package running right now. I'm watching the Braves and Mets with Chip Caray doing the play-by-play and Tom Glavine doing the color. I did not know Glavine was in the booth for the Braves.

The Bravos hung a 6 spot on Mets' ace, Santana, in the bottom of the 5th. 6-0 Atlanta going to the top of the 6th.  Applause E-Cred

Braves just signed Ben Sheets, former LSU pitcher. He started for Atlanta today, pitching 6 shutout innings (2 hits). Braves won 6-1 and are on a tear. That was Sheets first win in over 2 years.

That's great, they need some pleasant surprises for a change.

D is what the Braves need at SS. They have lost 2 shortstops to injuries and were just looking for some D to plug the SS hole.

The Dodgers couldn't hit their way out of a paper sack right now.
