"Stidham hasn't really thought much about whether he'll return for 2019"

He's either a liar (likely) or really an idiot (also likely).
He's rated the 10th best NCAA QB in the next NFL draft.

He'd be better off transferring to another program; one that develops QBs.

Well, he has one more year, and he'll sit on the bench at Boogerland.

If this guy goes to the NFL and actually makes a roster for a few years, it will be a big indictment on Gus.  Because he doesn't look anything like an NFL QB in their system.

Here's the real liar:  “No matter who our quarterback, we’re going to be better on offense,” Malzahn said, “and I’m very confident that we’ll be really good on offense next year.”

More about injuries to Damien, Thompson, and Leatherwood:

Harris was slow to get up after a 73-yard run, but after members of the training staff attended to him, he was able to jog off under his own power. The senior rushed for 83 yards on seven carries.

Thompson came up limping in the fourth quarter and left the game in pain. The redshirt junior recorded eight tackles and forced a fumble that resulted in a touchdown for Anfernee Jennings. Thompson was replaced at safety by redshirt junior Keaton Anderson.

Leatherwood went to the locker room in the third quarter and was replaced by Joshua Casher.

“It was good,” said Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of Casher getting to play. “I mean, it’s nothing where you look at it like, ‘Oh, wow. Josh is in.’ It’s next man up if someone gets hurt, and you roll from there. I’m happy he got the opportunity today.”

Thompson to Anderson is a BIG step down.  No worries, Keaton, your family is rich and you don't need the NFL check.

He's from the Books-a-Million, TNT fireworks, Yogurt Mountain folks.

I watched Deionte from the moment he got up hurt, all the way to the tent. He was in terrible pain. I really hope he's going to be ok. We can ill afford to lose him.

D. Harris.  "Mild" Concussion.

Unfortunately, he still has to go through the concussion protocol, and there's no telling how long that might take.

Thompson had that look on his face that players get when they know their season is over. I was shocked and relieved to hear that it was only a bruise.

Monday before Iron Bowl PRACTICE:

Left guard Deonte Brown (turf toe) was taking reps with the second team, while Lester Cotton Sr. was with the first team. Right guard Alex Leatherwood (sprained ankle) was not seen at practice, so Joshua Casher was with the first team.

 Sad

Deionte Thompson looked fine going through drills...

Damien Harris (concussion) was not seen at practice...
