My (vaccinated) 55yo sister had COVID this past week. She and her husband had just gotten back from Europe a few days before.   She felt pretty darn rough for a couple days and then immediately sprang back.  Some people may think that the vaccine failed her, but I think the vaccine did wonders for her.  It's likely she would've ended up much worse off (she has some underlying conditions).

NALT, I think you mentioned long ago that you knew her husband (Mike E.).  I think he may have spoke at your church once or twice.
That's right.  Mike did come and preach for us a few times years ago.  I still see Mike occasionally in the building I work in.  Of course, not so much since the China virus got a foothold in the U.S...  Glad that she is doing better.

Ha, Mike has changed jobs about 25 times in his career.   He retired as a GS-15 civil servant a few years ago, and has worked for at least 3 contractors since then.   He changed a couple months ago from Dynetics to someone else, and I forget now...maybe Aegis?

Mike is a good one, but he's definitely a free agent when it comes to his career.

And no radio?  That's all we had in the old days, but today it would seem dull.

I remember during 1969 Alabama beat Southern Miss 63-14, and the newspapers said "This team could win another championship for Coach Bryant".

The next week we lost to Vandy 14-10.  True.

I have been a fan since 1964 and I think I actually remember this game. If I am not mistaken it was on abc wide world of sports that I use to watch. RTR!

I don't think the 1969 USM game was televised.  I remember it was at Denny Stadium; I was there.  But the Vandy game was in Nashville at night, and not televised.  We had trouble getting a radio station, and only got updates periodically.  Vandy won with a short passing game.

Thanks Chechem, I was not sure if the 1969 game was shown on TV for sure but seems like I remember it but I may have heard it on the radio. RTR!

Good Monday morning folks. I took off work on Friday to go visit one of my mom's sisters as Hospice had been called in for her.  She passed early this morning only about 30 minutes after her oldest daughter arrived to see her.  Aunt Winnie Ruth was a wonderful woman who had a terrific sense of humor and she even told me on Friday that "everyone should try to have fun through life."  She was 91 y/o.  RIP Aunt Winnie Ruth...

I hope you all had a great weekend. The Bama game was great.  The Barn game was GREAT up until about 1:51 left in the game.   Banging your head against the wall.

Sorry to hear about your aunt, NALT.

I'm back from Elberton, Ga. The boys are playing golf today and alas, I can't play until February, so I'm back home. I did have a good time visiting though.

Great win for Bama. I had the game set to record but for some reason, it did not record.  Angry

Jalen Hurts still staring down receivers.  2 INTs and a bunch of bad throws.  He's making Dak look good.
