I was able to get a good photo of this wolf (1228F) yesterday.  She's my favorite of the JB Pack.  She was born in 2019, and just had her first litter of pups.  I'm hoping to see them soon.

It was raining, so she isn't as fluffy in the pic as usual.  Beautiful wolf with a unique collar.

NALT and Chech living the dream. I'll get my slice of it this week. Monday, I'm heading to Santee, SC for the annual golf trip with my crew out of Atlanta. This is our 25th year. I doubt I can play all four days but I'm looking forward to going.

This wolf is one I've had a tough time photographing.  She's a yearling with a collar, and one of the most aggressive wolves in the JB Pack.  She constantly picks on other females.  I watched her leave the den and cross the Lamar River.  Beautiful, but beware!

Golden Eagle feeding its chick (eaglet).  Golden Eagles are rare, and their numbers have dropped significantly.  Lots of problems with lead poisoning (they eat at gut piles from hunter-killed elk).



Yes, it is warmer; high about 55 yesterday.  But it's raining mucho.

Lead poisoning was also the leading cause to the demise of the California Condor. How were you able to get that pic, Chech? Glad it warmed up to that balmy 55 degrees. 

I'll be heading to Santee, SC in a few hours. It will be in the 90s all week. I won't be taking any snow gear.

Aloha everyone.  Beautiful weekend but I basically spent most of my time relaxing at my hotel.  I went on a tough hike Saturday and Sunday mornings and was wiped out.  In the office this morning waiting for my equipment to arrive.  It should have been here on Friday but only 3 packages arrived.

These eagles nested in the same pacle 3 years ago.  I've checked the area each year when I visit.  A friend told me they were back this year, so I've been waiting for the young to hatch.  It was raining when I got this video/pic after waiting for an hour for the adult to return from hunting.
