I understand the confusion.   Especially since there was "loco" in the name.

Yellowstone Park is closed, so I'll probably start home in a few days.  Right now the roads out of this town are iffy at best; rock slides and washed-out bridges are a problem.

A woman who was born in this little town of Silver Gate said it's never flooded like this before.  Heavy rain coupled with snowmelt overwhelmed the rivers and creeks.  The Yellowstone River was running at 52,000CFS, almost 20,000CFS more than the record (that's 2.5' higher than the 104-year-old record).  It's a mess.

Yellowstone River near Gardiner, MT.  That was a house.

YNP near Gardiner, MT.  Numerous washed out areas occurred in this part of Yellowstone north of Mammoth.

Pray Shocked Shocked you might have a hard time getting home. Just be safe coming out of there. I hope nobody was home when that house went down. RTR!

He was a park employee.  He had 30 minutes to get as much out as possible before it crashed into the river.  MANY visitors stood and watched with cameras ready while he raced inside to gather his belongings.  He said some helped; most did not.

I surely hate he lost that beautiful spot.   Sad

Stay safe, Ricky!  Stay cool if you can too.  It's supposed to get even hotter next week.

That's some serious flooding, Chech.  Shocked Hopefully, waters will start receding soon. What's the forecast there?

I guess CRS decided to shut down early for Juneteenth yesterday.

I worried that it was my computer's fault. Pretty bad: no camels, no news about travels or anything.  Panic
