Good morning from Virginia.  COLD here. 

Yes, we had a safe trip yesterday.  Another 13-hour day on the road; ugh.  But good to be here safely for the holidays.  The rest of LF's family arrives starting today.

Thanks to 2 and RE for keeping me updated on recruits yesterday.  Texting certainly helps mucho.  LF would read the names to me as they signed; some pretty tough names to pronounce too.
 

Think I'll decompress today.  Coffee is brewing.

Good morning, everyone.  Safe travels to all.

I'm anxiously waiting to see if I'm going to get the free day off Tuesday that the President gave government employees.   I plan to be off regardless, but I'd like to save my vacation hours.  Actually, I'll use the vacation I planned to use on Tuesday for Monday .

Good morning, well-digger friends.   

We had a fun time yesterday visiting family and enjoying the wilds of Virginia.  I went out in the boonies to my BIL's house.  Beautiful woods there and a lake full of ducks (Hooded Merganzers actually).  It was chilly, but sunny and warm on his south-facing porch.

Hope y'all get your free day off.  Preacher, you need an electric blanket.  HTH

Glad you had a good time, Chech. We're leaving here in about an hour, headed for P'cola, and hopefully, a little warmer weather. It's currently 28 degrees here right now.

Looks like 2 bowl games today to kick off the bowl season. The first one is the Bahamas bowl at 1:00 CST (Buffalo vs Charlotte). Then at 6:30 there's the Frisco Bowl (Kent St vs Utah St). Lot's more tomorrow.

Two things irritate me about modern bowls:

1. The names, such as the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl

2. The poor teams selected, like Tulane going to the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl after losing 5 of their last 6 games

These bowls were created for one reason: MONEY! It's not like in the old days of real bowls with real teams. RTR!

Made it safely to P'cola. Except for Atlanta. It was particularly brutal today.

Gonna try fishing in the morning if the weather holds off. Rain expected around noon. Would be nice to catch something, but not necessary. Looking forward to the chill time.
