Memphis would be on the way to Fort Worth from Oxford by car.  He might have been driving home.

Maybe.  But the shorter route would be due west across the delta (across the river at West Helena).  Most people I know would go that route to get to I-40.  But his decision making wasn't the best.
Of course he wasn't.  He had just murdered a girl and was more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

But where was he all weekend??
He shot her after midnight Saturday morning, then was arrested in Memphis on Monday night.

64 here. Beautiful! Will be in the 80s the rest of the week. Yesterday was like a fall day. Nice break from the oppressive heat.

Good morning folks.  Temps here this morning is around 58 degrees heading for a high temp of 61.  I'm about ready to get back to the Alabama heat for a change.  I'm working just about 4 hours today then hoping to head out and try to catch some salmon.

When I get home next Wednesday I'll have plenty of mowing to do.  Dad's yard has only been mowed ONE time since I've been gone and every other week just isn't frequent enough.  I imagine it will take a few mowings before it will start to look ok again... I guess that is the price I pay for relying on my brothers to step up and help Dad... Banging your head against the wall.

He'll probably cut them out of the will.

Interesting route!  I've been as far as West Helena but never crossed the bridge into Arky.  Twenty years ago I did some contract work for the FDA and traveled all over Mississippi.  Not too far south of West Helena (Rudyard to Friar's Point) is Dog Bog Road, which I had to drive just for the name.

As for the (alleged) shooter, I'm thinking, being a kid from Texas, he would just follow an app, which likely would send him through Memphis.

Don't know what the roads in Arky would be like.  But I doubt Google, GPS or another App would choose that route.

Good morning, CRS!

Life is good again in Oxford.  Beautiful days; cool nights.  It's 59 this morning.  Woot!

NALT, I mowed the grass yesterday.  I've given up on you.  At least you learned how to catch salmon (he texted a pic of a fine Pink Salmon yesterday).  Now, go find a bear!

No football news lately, which is usually good news this time of year.  The Braves lost again last night to KC: 2-0.

And the Nats won a double-header. The Braves can't be losing at home to teams like KC, and expect to make the playoffs.  Angry

Yeah, it's nice and cool here too at 62 degrees. Will be a nice drive to the facility where I'll get my annual CT scan, then off to work.

That was a nice catch on the Salmon, NALT. When you get a bear, I dare ya to hold it that close to the camera.

It is really cool here this morning. Well Chechem it is getting that time of the year when the Braves run out of juice. We must face up they may give it away to the Nats. RTR!
