Police say surveillance footage shows Ally at a local bar.  She went home at midnight, then left again after that.  She was shot to death.  WHY??  Just a shame.

Good Tuesday morning. We had a heck of a storm last night. More forecast for later this morning, then a bit of a cool down. High of 79 today with a low of 64 tonight. Nice!

39 days til kickoff. The SEC Network showed the 2009 Iron Bowl. We won again. 

The morning drive to work definitely had a better feel to the air this morning.  It should be even better tomorrow morning.  Wooooo!

I just watched the 8min YouTube highlight version of the 2009 Iron Bowl.  Great memories seeing guys like Julio, Arenas, Ingram, Barron, et. al. making plays.  Those guys set the tone for many great years.

I can only imagine two reasons why someone would shoot a person 8 times - the person poses a serious threat and the shooter is fearful, and a "crime of passion" type murder.  Since I doubt the cute little blonde terrified anyone to such extreme, someone likely felt hurt/wronged by her.  I'm sure any boyfriend or ex-boyfriend is the primary suspect(s) at this point.

But what do I know?  Terrible to see anyone lose their life prematurely.

Good morning folks.  I have one more week up here before I get to head for home.  Today I get to trade my rental car for a rental truck.    So sad about the young girl.  Keep a good eye on the weather 2 in case you have a severe cell rumble through...

Police arrested a guy Monday.  Not saying he's guilty, but...

Brandon Theesfeld, of Texas.  Also an Ole Miss student.

Here's the latest updates on the murder:
1.  No surprise, but Ole Miss suspended Theesfeld when he was charged with murder today.
2.  His Dad says he's innocent.  His Dad arrived in Oxford today to visit with him.
3.  He was arrested in Memphis at a convenience store (he's from Texas).
4.  He and Ally were seen together on video on the Square Friday night before midnight.
5.  They were also seen on video at Lakeside Market (near where her body was found) after midnight.
6.  She indeed was shot 8 times.
7.  No word on how long they'd dated or even if they had dated previously.
8.  Her father made a statement after she was found Saturday, but her parents haven't had further statements; none since his arrest.

Memphis would be on the way to Fort Worth from Oxford by car.  He might have been driving home.

Maybe.  But the shorter route would be due west across the delta (across the river at West Helena).  Most people I know would go that route to get to I-40.  But his decision making wasn't the best.
