HURRICANE ISAAC discussion. Updated.

We've had a few pretty impressive squalls pass through, but nothing serious. I think I heard a cheer go up from TWC when they announced that Isaac was now officially a hurricane. Nice web cam shot, Chech. I don't know how those people can stand it, what with a wind clearly blowing 10-15 MPH.

They've been following this thing for 8,000 miles and it becomes a hurricane just before landfall.

It's getting a little dicey here now. Numerous squalls, sustained 30 MPH winds with reported gusts of 44 MPH. Mike Seidel is on Orange Beach taking a pounding. Of all the locations that these guys are, he's definitely got it the worst.

Saw the Weather Channel report from Orange Beach - yikes.

I talked with my friend in Gautier, MS.  He said his marina is underwater.  Recall I went fishing from Mary Walker Marina this summer?  That's the one underwater.  He said the tide is supposed to rise about 10-12'; about 7' now.  Winds are blasting there too.

Here ya go.  This pier, where the fish are hanging over our heads, is completely underwater, as is the restaurant and the bait house.   

  Wow! That's definitely serious.

My daughter forwarded me pics of the Boardwalk on P'cola Beach about 3 hours ago and the water is almost to the back doors of the businesses from the sound.
