Everyone at the National Hurricane Center expected to have a hurricane by now, but the storm remains a large blob instead.  It looks like the eye hasn't formed yet, but it's close.

The answer to "where will it hit?" seems to have narrowed to 'New Orleans' or 'Ham Sammich' (Gulfport?).  Odd that the models are still not in agreement.

Isaac is still a tropical storm at this time, but is on the verge to intensifying into a Category 1 hurricane sometime later this morning. Satellite imagery shows that Isaac has been fighting some drier air that has wrapped up into the circulation causing the showers and thunderstorms not to form an eye wall...

Has there ever been this much hoopla about a minimal storm?  All of that new technology available, so the weather folks incite the entire Gulf coast a week before it arrives.  Then it comes ashore as a tropical storm?  Pish !

I laughed myself silly. Al Roker set up an intro to Jim Cantore being on Canal street and was warning JC about how the winds can howl between the buildings and toss about debris. They cut to Cantore and there was hardly a breeze. Just as still as could be.  Laughing

You sir, are a better man than I.  The only limitation to my wise cracks is the fact that my crack is not that wise.

That is too much information, sir.  Shocked Shocked   Wink

Well, in a first, the University of South Alabama is closed today, so I am staying at La Casa de CB to help the wife continue the packing.

Can we call it an "eye" yet?

This is a weird storm.  The rain is MUCH less widespread than yesterday.  Hopefully it means the rainfall totals will be modest.
