Good news for Braves:  The Dodgers are the only playoff team that had a worse September record than the Braves.

Bad news for Braves:  The Dodgers top 3 starters rank 4th, 10th, and 17th in MLB in fewest HRs allowed and all have ERAs under 3.

Dodgers and Red Sox are 4/1 favorites to win World Series.

Quote
With the MLB regular season ending on Sunday, postseason baseball begins on Thursday, October 3. Per Bovada, as of today on 9/28, the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers have the best odds to win the 2013 World Series at 4/1.

Following these two teams are the Detroit Tigers with 5/1 odds. The Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals share 7/1 odds. The Oakland Athletics have 8/1 odds. Then, a trio of teams in the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, and Pittsburgh Pirates share 16/1 odds – a drop off from the first six teams mentioned. Finally, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers (who are currently on the outside of the playoff picture and looking in) have odds at 18/1 and 20/1, respectively.

An unnerving stat for the start of the playoffs, the Braves batted .223 in September. The Braves led the NL in homers (177) but were shut out 17 times, 2nd in the league. Plus, they have struck out over 1300 times, 2nd in the NL, but were 5th in runs scored. This tells us something we all know about the Braves, they are inconsistent when it comes to hitting. Which Braves team will we see?

So, are you picking the Dodgers to win this 5-game series?
That's bad ju-ju.
GO BRAVES!

Even under torture, I would not pick the Dodgers. The Braves have 3 major things going for them: home field advantage, the best closer in MLB, and Heyward has returned to leadoff.

This one helped the most. Heyward is a good hitter but a good fielder with a 10 gauge shotgun for an arm. Yes, hone field is ok too.  RTR!

Kimbrel is a huge asset.  Thankfully the Dodgers aren't a late scoring team typically anyway.

I will stick with my prediction that I decided on ~6 weeks ago.  Cardinals and Tigers in the World Series.  I do admit that the Bo Sox probably look better now that Buchholz is back and Miggy Cabrera is really hampered by his groin injury (only had 1HR in September).

Don't count the Indians out. They had a great September & Francona can manage.

We owe Cleveland so I would like to see them make it along with the Braves. RTR!

The September callup is better looking than I realized.

If you look closely you can see that her uniform is actually painted on.   Shocked

They have their hands full tonight down 3-0 to the Rays.  Desmond Jennings (former Alabama football signee) has a 2-run double.

Yeah, and they are playing IN Cleveland. Losing at home is no way to get fans excited about the team for next year. This is a 1 game playoff, do or die.
