Last time I cheched, in the 7th inning the Braves led the Phillies 7-1 and Heyward was 4-4 at leadoff. Good sign.

I think J Hey ended up 5-5. If he stays hot, that will only help Atlanta in the postseason.
Yes, Braves won 7-1.  They're tied for the best record now.

It's good to see him play well in the short time he's been back. I have no problem with him and the pitching staff carrying the team on their backs through the playoffs.  Cool

It's good to see the Braves winning another Division title. I think maybe they can get to the NLCS but they will have to work. RTR!

Braves beat Phillies 1-0. Medlen pitches beautiful 8 innings and gives up 2 hits & 2 walks. He is 15-12 on the season with an ERA of 3.11. At one time, he had a losing record with an ERA well over 5, but he has ben great the past 2 months. Braves tied with Cards with best record in NL and are 95-65. Two games left.

The Cards have always seemed to have our number in the post season. I hope we can take home field advantage and the win out in the playoffs to get them at home.

Very simple, they beat us with superior pitching & clutch hitting. Also, they seem to want it more.

The Braves' hopes of home-field advantage rests on beating the Phillies twice more, while we need the lowly, inept, incompetent Chicago Cubs to beat St. Louis.

Boston won their 97th game and clinches AL home field advantage.

I would love to see a Red Sox - Braves World series.

Who owns the tie-breaker between the Cards and Braves?

I have been hoping to play the Braves the first round, but Dad says he'd rather play the Cardinals.  I don't see it, but typically his baseball knowledge is supreme.

Home field advantage does seem like a pretty big difference maker for the Braves, given their home and away records.

I'm not sure but I think the Braves swept the Cards at Atlanta and then the Cards swept the Braves at St Louis this season.

Because they own the head-to-head tiebreaker, the Braves would clinch this advantage if both teams win their remaining two regular-season games. But if St. Louis loses during this weekend's three-game series against the Cubs, Atlanta would simply need to win one of the next two games, during which Philadelphia will start Ethan Martin and Zach Miner. In simpler terms, Atlanta can clinch on Saturday with a win combined with a St. Louis loss.

The Braves are already guaranteed to start the NLDS at home. If they finish as the NL's top seed, they will avoid a first-round matchup against the Dodgers and will instead face the winner of the Reds-Pirates battle in the Wild Card Game.
