Purdue (previous #1) lost yesterday, but Bama also jumped #2 Houston.

Unfortunately as we go through the year, it doesn't appear the SEC is as good as first assumed.   The conference's only other ranked team is Tennessee at #10.  I hope this doesn't mean Bama is just looking good against poor or mediocre competition.

I hate when we go to #1 because we always lose. I hope always #2 to #4 is good enough. The painted # is always on our back at #1. RTR!

You said basically the same thing when we went to #2.   Yeah, we'll likely lose before the year is up, and it may just be this Wednesday.   But that has more to do with us having our toughest road game of the year Wednesday rather than some sportswriters voting.

I'm gonna withhold my exuberance until after we hold onto that ranking for more than a couple of weeks...  Lips Sealed

Rarely has anyone held onto it very long this year.

I know I am whining but, boy it seemed to me that da vols got away with a lot of, shall we say, very physical play.  As did Gonzaga and Oklahoma.  I didn't see the Connecticut game.  Is the formula for beating us being very "physical" and hoping the zebras let you get away with it?

Tennessee and Auburn have both brought in pulling guards from the football team to set their picks the last couple games.

On the other hand, Houston tried to manhandle us when we played them (possibly the most physical team I've seen) and we won.

Purdue got smoked by unranked Maryland last night. Joe Lunardi with ESPN still has us as the #1 overall one seed.

It is a proven commodity that anyone can beat any other team on any given night. RTR!
