If we go to the 8 teams we will never miss out. RTR!

So they might go back to 2 teams.   Shocked

If they do that they might as well just give us the trophy in odd years and give it to Clemson in even years.

While I can't pull for the Boogers to win, if they beat UGA and then we beat the Boogers badly then that will give us a better shot.  We need someone from the PAC conference to upset  Oregon and both Baylor and OK need to lose to help us, maybe...The main thing is that we just have to win out to give ourselves the best chance.  If not, nothing else matters.
The games vs. Auburn, by Bama and Georgia, are the most important factor still under Bama's control.  Bama needs to beat the Barn badly, regardless of what the Committee might say about margin of victory.

I'm not too concerned with the PAC12 if Bama destroys the Barn, since Oregon lost to them and doesn't have quality wins.

The Committee has the Big12 down this year, not sure why.  But Baylor does need a loss -- the Committee probably won't keep out an undefeated Power 5 team.

Still, three spots likely are taken if the teams win out:  Clemson, LSU and Ohio State.  That only leaves one more playoff spot, hopefully the best one loss team gets in.

Agreed.  And, even though odds are against it, let's not rule out at least one unexpected loss from Clemson, LSU, or OSU...

LSU losing to Georgia won't help us.  LSU losing to anyone else and beating Georgia won't help us.  (As far as jumping LSU is concerned)

Ohio State losing a close game to an undefeated Minnesota (who will likely not be undefeated and likely won't beat OSU), won't help us.

Clemson losing to anyone, and we're good assuming we win out.
I'm also not sure Auburn beating Georgia does Bama any good, and I won't be rooting for it.  It's probably better for Georgia to win a close one and then lose big to LSU.

While Georgia losing and Bama beating the Barn soundly would put Bama ahead of Georgia, that also boost's Auburn's ranking, and Oregon's loss to them looks better.  I'd prefer for Oregon to have a loss to a four loss (8-4) SEC school, making it clear that the PAC12 can't hang with the SEC, and opening the door for two SEC schools in the playoffs.  And I'd prefer for Auburn to have those 4 losses.

Me too.  A three loss demoralized Auburn will be much easier to handle.  Heck, their fans may be pulling for us to get Gus back to Arkansas.

Well, OK, you're probably right.  I just can't wrap my head around rooting for the Barn.

If they beat UGA (and I think that's highly unlikely), then that would give Bama a "quality win."  But I almost choke just calling it that.

That's what I'm saying.  Why not just enjoy watching Bama dismantle the Bullies.

I honestly think I would rather Bama sit home during the bowl season than pull for Awbren to win...

I hope auburn stomps GA. and we go into auburn and nail their hides to the wal. I want that quality win and give auburn another loss, God help us make the playoffs. RTR!

Bama won't be sitting home.  If not the playoffs, then probably Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

I’m going to take the opposite view here. I want Auburn to win so that when we meet them and whip that azz, it will be that best “quality win” we are getting dinged for right now.

Let the games be played!  See who wins & who looses. That's all Bama can do at this point.

It is what it is...

I don’t want to Auburn to win because they have a history of beating Georgia at home and then riding a wave of emotion to a victory over Bama. If Bama beats MSU and Auburn convincingly and LSU beats UGA, I think there’s a very good chance Bama gets in regardless of what else happens.
