While I can't pull for the Boogers to win, if they beat UGA and then we beat the Boogers badly then that will give us a better shot.  We need someone from the PAC conference to upset  Oregon and both Baylor and OK need to lose to help us, maybe...The main thing is that we just have to win out to give ourselves the best chance.  If not, nothing else matters.

The games vs. Auburn, by Bama and Georgia, are the most important factor still under Bama's control.  Bama needs to beat the Barn badly, regardless of what the Committee might say about margin of victory.

I'm not too concerned with the PAC12 if Bama destroys the Barn, since Oregon lost to them and doesn't have quality wins.

The Committee has the Big12 down this year, not sure why.  But Baylor does need a loss -- the Committee probably won't keep out an undefeated Power 5 team.

Still, three spots likely are taken if the teams win out:  Clemson, LSU and Ohio State.  That only leaves one more playoff spot, hopefully the best one loss team gets in.

Agreed.  And, even though odds are against it, let's not rule out at least one unexpected loss from Clemson, LSU, or OSU...

LSU losing to Georgia won't help us.  LSU losing to anyone else and beating Georgia won't help us.  (As far as jumping LSU is concerned)

Ohio State losing a close game to an undefeated Minnesota (who will likely not be undefeated and likely won't beat OSU), won't help us.

Clemson losing to anyone, and we're good assuming we win out.

I'm also not sure Auburn beating Georgia does Bama any good, and I won't be rooting for it.  It's probably better for Georgia to win a close one and then lose big to LSU.

While Georgia losing and Bama beating the Barn soundly would put Bama ahead of Georgia, that also boost's Auburn's ranking, and Oregon's loss to them looks better.  I'd prefer for Oregon to have a loss to a four loss (8-4) SEC school, making it clear that the PAC12 can't hang with the SEC, and opening the door for two SEC schools in the playoffs.  And I'd prefer for Auburn to have those 4 losses.

We had less of a chance making it in ‘11 and ‘12 than we do now, and everything broke our way. Doesn’t mean everything will go out way this year, but it’s happened before.

With all the injuries, maybe it just wasn’t our year. The good news is that all the young guys who started ahead of schedule will be better for it next year. The defense should improve, and LSU likely won’t be as good next year without Burrow. The ‘Bama’s Dynasty is Dead’ pieces are already being written, like they are every time we lose ONE GAME. The team is still loaded with talent, and not going away anytime soon.

No need to woory.     Our D isn't strong enough to beat OSU or LSU anyhow.  If we luck out again and get in, great.  Otherwise, let's beat the Boogs and win a bowl game.

My question here is will the freshmen still be here next year or do they take off to the nfl? RTR!

Agree that Bama's young Defense is nowhere near past Bama defenses.

Disagree that Bama couldn't beat LSU or OSU with a healthy Tua and Bama's offensive weapons.  It took a half for Tua to shake off the rust vs. LSU, but he looked much better in the second half, limp and all.  And the defense managed a few stops.

Still, Bama probably has less than a 50% chance to make the playoffs, and it's mostly out of Bama's hands at this point.  Speculation won't get us there.

Beating Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl might have to suffice.

We will get in, we will win it all, and then next year there will be 8 teams in the playoff.

Kids have to be out of high school for 3 years before they can go to the NFL.  Or that is how it used to be anyways...
