Even the announcers can't believe Bama was an 8 seed. Weak-assed explanation was the OOC schedule. We were 32-0. We were 9-1 against top 10 teams. Apparently, that doesn't mean crap. The selection committee is just as inept as the officiating crew from last night.

The Bama hate is glaringly strong.  Angry Angry Angry

These dipsticks (the selection committee) likely penciled in Bama and Florida before the game as a 5 and 8 seed, expecting Bama to win.  When Florida won they simply flipped the seedings.  I doubt they even looked at the implications of it otherwise.  Bastids.

Being an 8 seed means we take out some of the toughest teams up front, am I right? RTR!

I'm not concerned about being an 8 seed.  If we win, we're in.  Question though, if we win our region do we host a Super Regional?

My sentiments exactly. We have the talent but we have to quit leaving people on base. RTR!

There are eight super regionals, so I would assume yes.

Yes, but we potentially get the toughest matchups for the Super Regional (#9 Texas) and the CWWS (#1 seed) for any of the top 8 seeds.

Now this would be a tough regional to play BUT would a #1 seed have to travel to play in a super regional with a #8 seed leading the way? RTR!

Quote
So how did the selection committee justify ranking Alabama so low? It was the primary question from the ESPN crew discussing this year’s bracket. The answer they got was that Alabama’s non-conference strength of schedule ranked 106th. Bama was 32-0 in non-conference games. The committee (presumably with great smugness, like almost everything done wrong by anything NCAA) pointed out that Minnesota had the No. 1 non-conference strength of schedule. Never mind that Alabama defeated the Gophers in head-to-head meetings – twice.

Alabama has the best record of any of the top 16 seeds at 52-7. The Crimson Tide was regular season champion of the SEC, which has the No. 1 RPI in the nation. Bama was 9-1 vs. top 10 RPI teams. Alabama’s 12 wins against top 25 teams was fourth most in the nation.

As for that non-conference strength of schedule argument, how about the SEC strength of schedule. Not only did it have the highest RPI of any conference, a glance at the 64-team bracket will reveal that all 13 SEC teams were selected for the national championship tournament, six of them No. 1 seeds. It is the third consecutive season all 13 SEC softball teams were selected for the national tournament.

Kaylee Tow hits a 3 run homer to put Bama up 8-1 at the end of 4.

Bama gets 2 on after 2 out but fail to score. Going to the top of the 6th, still 8-1.
