Now with the news that Dan Enos is going to Miami as OC, the question has to be asked:  why does Bama continually have so much turnover among ass't coaches every year?  Honestly, I don't know the answer to that.  But I do think it's going to affect the program, recruiting etc., more and more if this keeps happening.

In my experience, every job change involves a push from the current job and a pull from the new one.  What's pushing and what's pulling?

What do you guys think?

(On another matter, I'd say the odds that Jalen transfers to Miami just went up.)

Well one thing about it how hard CNS expects his staff to work. Next is the money, if we could pay a staff more money maybe they stay. If Miami can Enos seems to me we could raise his pay and keep him. Other than this I don't know but everybody knows we go to the playoffs every year and these other teams think they can do it with our coaches after being with CNS. RTR!

First, like ricky said, Saban is hard to work for.  One coach told us, when I was coaching, that when Saban left MSU for LSU he sent the jet back for assistants and no one got on.  Second, successful programs assistant coaches are going to be in high demand.  Just look at the SEC where Muschamp, Fisher, Smart, and Puritt were all coaches under Saban.

I can't help but wonder how much longer Coach Saban is going to put up with attrition of his coaches.  I can't help but wonder if he just might get tired of his assistants leaving and decide that it is no longer worth the effort to try and retain, replace, and retrain his assistant coaches...and head to the lake...

This is a question that has been all over social media today. I think Ricky and coach got it right. But, there could be an additional dimension to this; maybe, after such a terrible loss to Clemson, CNS isn't trying to keep them and just letting them go their merry way.

Many of these coaches don't have a real tie to Bama, ie they didn't play there or they aren't from Alabama.  I think this makes it easier to leave.

We reload every year with players. We’ll do it again with the coaches and we won’t miss a beat. Saban always regroups well.

Which programs usually have good OL's?  Stanford and Iowa are usually know for their OL.  Maybe go to NFL staffs who has been fired this year.

No one questions Saban is hard to work for.  I think these coaches with no ties to Alabama or Saban see the job as a stepping stone, a resume builder.  Grind it out a few years then move on.

Saban is old school, all hard work.  Dabo has kept his assistants for several years, emphasizing hard work and having fun at the same time.  While Clemson hasn't had the same exact level of success as Bama, they're a close #2.  And they're Clemson, without the same history or State recruiting base as Alabama.  I think Bama gets revenge on Clemson next year, and Saban still is the master, but here's food for thought:  Dabo is about the same age as Saban was when he took the LSU job.

There is thought floating around on some websites that Saban wanted to run a spread offense (I guess like we've been doing) and Enos wanted to go to more of a pro set.

You know times have changed in college football when Saban would choose the spread offense over a pro set.

Remember four years ago when all the talking heads were declaring the Bama dynasty over after losses to Ole Miss in the regular season and OSU in the first playoff?  Remember how we’ve played in four straight championships since and won two of them?

I ain’t worried about the current situation.

And we've also been the only team to be included in all 5 CFP's since it's inception...

The most stated reasons for turnover of ass't coaches seem to be: [1] CNS is hard to work for [2] ass't coaches with experience at successful programs are in high demand [3] lack of 'real' ties to Bama.

Well #1 isn't lkely to change.  And if it really is THAT hard to work for CNS, then this factor will continue.

#2 seems to cause more turnover at Bama than other places.  Clemson has a very successful program but their staff has largely been in place for several years.  Maybe it's that no program has been as successful as Bama and this amount of turnover is the price of success.  I dunno.

#3 -- a point made by hscoach, bears some thought.  Don't know if CNS considers "having Bama blood" as a hiring criteria, but maybe he should.

I thought this article about how Gattis after telling CNS (and Locks) he was going to Maryland, ended up going to Mich, is interesting.  Kinda like he had no loyalty to anybody, and not even to his word to Locks.  Sheesh...
