Well if your using the niv to prove something your probably going down the wrong alley brethren. RTR!

Jesus didn't speak King James English when he was traveling around Galilee.

Will need confirmation from Old Tider.  He was skipping rocks in the Red Sea with Moses when he was still in short pants.

How do you know what language Jesus spoke when he was traveling and spreading the Gospel? RTR!

Seriously?

Aramaic (Galilean dialect)

The Pope and Israeli President argued over it a while back.  The Pope won.

And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

The 48 scholars who translated for King James didn't speak Aramaic.   Cool

Don't challenge me on this Biblical Jeopardy stuff.  I took enough of this in college to bury the Vatican.

Aramaic was Jesus’ native tongue. It’s almost certain he and the disciples knew Koine Greek from childhood, possible that he and they did much of their public teaching in Greek.

All English translations, from the KJV to moderns, are translated from Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. The differences between the KJV and modern translations result from modern translators having vastly more and older ancient manuscripts to work with, and changes in the English language.

There’s nothing wrong with preferring the KJV nor preferring a reliable modern translation. I preach from the ESV, finding it to be the best combination of accuracy and readability.
