Free Shoes University is the first team bounced from the baseball tournament regionals in Tallahassee, losing to Samford in the first round, then losing in the bottom of the 9th to a walk off 3 run homer by Miss. State.   

When I  heard Bama lost to Samford (twice), I thought we had hit rock bottom, but they actually are a good team.  Too bad we don't have their coach and players.   Angel

Vandy beat Clemson in a surprise yesterday.
LSU had opportunities to score early vs Oregon State (maybe the best team in the tourney), but failed.  LSU had bases loaded with no outs in 1st; didn't score.  Another doiuble play in 2nd killed that opportunity.

SEC SEC SEC
We're doing pretty well otherwise.  Boogers got the easiest draw, playing a Northeastern team with lots of injuries and Army (not a powerhouse).

All the SC fans up in Greenville were laughing their azzes off because Clemson fans were crying and moaning about Vandy being in their regional. That should add some fine salt to the wound.

WCWS set.  FSU v Washington. 

FSU had to beat UCLA twice on Sunday to make it in the finals.  First time for an ACC team to make it in.

I think Washington has to be the favorite.  They were ranked #1 for 9 straight weeks, had a blip (injury/illness?) where they lost 6 straight (v. WCWS teams Oregon and UCLA), but then came back strong. 

They're strong in -- pitching/defense, and scoring.  Pitching/Defense -- shut out OK twice (Bama scored 3 runs in 4 games).  Scoring -- I don't think Wash is any better than most WCWS teams in hitting; but what I've noticed is team speed on the bases.  Wash has several players who can beat out a throw to 1st on an infield roller, and make it around the bases on dinks and bunts.
