Great player for Alabama and the NFL.  One of my all-time favorites.

Used to enjoy visiting with him in the Gulf Shores honky tonk, "The End Zone".  A few great memories there, which 'Red Elephant' will recall.

Wow, just got home and saw this. Very sad day for the Bama faithful. The first Bama football game I ever went to was the 1967 Ole Miss - Alabama game, with the Snake at QB. I have a hat that was autographed by him.  Sad

Prayers to the family.  Pray

Wow, me too. I was with my dad & an uncle. Tide won 21-7. Did you notice me, I was the very good-looking & smart kid sitting around the 40 yard line.

Yep, 21-7. I remember it like it was yesterday.

You're not the kid they threw out for heckling Coach Bryant, were you?

Fun times.  Kenny never met a stranger and made time for everyone.  Jimmy Buffett bartending in the "The End Zone" and sitting in with "The Locust Fork Band"!

No, he was famous by then.  He just decided to show up with Kenny and have a fun evening at the bar.  Anybody who walked in prolly dropped their jaw when they saw who was on stage!

You know I watched Kenny on TV every year he played on every game televised I think. I love him and Bilentikof. Fred was a perfect target and Kenny was on time. Dave Casper was the rollin man I will always remember that played with Kenny. Great years for a kid like me. RTR!

Kenny was a regular at the Pink Pony Pub in Gulf Shores in the late 70's and early 80's. I ran into him several times there. I always liked the Pink Pony but it was always more fun if Kenny was there. You never knew who would be with him. Usually he was with a former Bama or NFL player. Kenny was one of a kind. There will never be another one like him.

Shocked to read this news.  I was in school with Kenny, two years behind him.  I saw more games with Snake at QB than any other Bama QB.  I am overcome with a flood of great memories.  RIP Snake.
