Casey Anthony Trial To The Jury

I hope to never be in such a precarious situation, but I'd much rather the jury in the courtroom be by judge than public opinion.

According to this, the jurors decided the verdict according to the laws rather than their emotions.  It looks like many of them believed that Casey was guilty of killing her child...but there simply was not enough evidence to convict her.

It's amazing that people seem to have no faith in the 12 person jury at all.  They are the 12 most informed and unbiased judges (they had no news coverage, just the case as presented) selected by a combination of the prosecution and defense...give them a little credit. 

I agree. I watched little more than necessary from surfing through channels. However, I did watch the closing arguments. From that it was clear the state had not tied this women to the death of the child, nor really proved this was even a murder.  I think that the real smart people, that are certain they know what happened, have allowed themselves to be conditioned by the talking heads on TV. People need to think for themselves.

This is what I think. There was more than enough evidence to convict Anthony. A guilty verdict was what everyone expected and all the talking heads on court TV shows thought that it would be a guilty verdict.

So the jury knowing a not guilty verdict would cause an uproar and all the jury members would be swamped for interviews and possible book deals, future movie deals, etc. voted like they did.

A meal ticket so to speak.

They could have voted guilty on at least manslaughter felony.
