I see here one thing, when 12 of your piers find you not guilty in America the person is still guilty. Why? Because nobody likes how they picked it to go.
What should we do to get our Justice system right? Should we ask at the jury selection do you think the party is guilty? If they say yes, ok that is who we want, so then every party no matter who she or he was would be guilty no use for court.
What if you here was in court you would be automatically innocent right? So 12 of your piers would be wrong no matter if they had a picture of proof.
So my question is what should we do in Amercia, should we do it like 3rd world countries?
This woman has to live with it or not with it, for the rest of her life. Should not the State have proved their case if they didn't should we shoot them?
I do believe from heart those 12 jurors saw it a lot more closely than any of us. I believe from what I hear as the counts was read, they got it right. How can I doubt them?
rtr!

I agree with you in principle, ricky, but I do still think there was enough evidence to convict, from what I understand. I still think that one of the elders at my church has got the right idea, that we should be leaning much more on biblical jurisprudence, where at one time it was enough to have two witnesses agree to observing the infraction in question. Obviously the Bible has many more rules regarding the legal system (see Leviticus and Deuteronomy), but if such a mandate satisfied the Lord's justice, then it should men as well.

Now here is something I can believe in, is Biblical Law and it would all be solved. RTR!

Good article from this morning about Casey's financial future.  Also says she will have to be careful for a while when going out in public.  People are angry.

In the opinion of the jury she was found not guilty of murder, but in the opinion of the public she is very guilty of that child being dead if nothing else by neglect. She will find that public opinion can be a very dangerous and damning thing and her misery has just begun.

We have one problem as I have said before the public was not the jury. We have to respect what the jury did or throw out our trial law as we know it. Which do you think will be the best? RTR!

First, Casey Anthony is guilty, the jury just didn't convict! Second, the jurors were obviously clueless or dumber than dirt.

But I think the problem with this trial and others is that so many of us have watched the TV shows and expect everything to be like CSI Miami. The police find a scrap of evidence and develop a perfect history of the entire case within one day. Unfortunately, that's just not the way things work, but I fear the average juror believes it is true.

Now you may be right about TV. NCIS, CSI, House, Matlock, these things are fixed but as you people believe. RTR!

They needed Nancy Grace to submit the prosecution evidence. That b**** would have gotten a conviction.

Casey Anthony's defense team must have planted enough doubt in the jury's mind. I felt the evidnece was overwhelming for a conviction of murder 1.

An alternate juror stated that she believed George Anthony to be a liar and bought into the drowning in the pool accident. Really?  Really?

Evidently the jury was not able to put all the pieces together like DA Jeff Ashton did during closing arguments. If anyone listened to DA Ashton Sunday morning, you got an accurate presentation of how Casey murdered her daughter.

Also if you listened to the other prosecutor in closing, there is no doubt who killed Caylee.
I listened to most of this hearing. I missed very little and came away just knowing the jury would give Casey death.

I guess nowadays, a video of Casey committing the crime may have not been enough to convict.

 Cool

I was not nearly as surprised by the verdict as most seem to be.  Whether she's guilty or not, the state did not prove her to be beyond a reasonable doubt.  JMHO.

I keep hearing this, and I don't know whether they did or not since I didn't watch any of trial. But even if I think she is guilty (which I do), if the prosecution was unable to present a believable case, then they have no one to blame but themselves.

I think the prosecution did prove beyond reasonable doubt. They didn't prove beyond a shadow of doubt, which is what the jury wanted before they put poor lil' white gurl on death row.

It's amazing that people seem to have no faith in the 12 person jury at all.  They are the 12 most informed and unbiased judges (they had no news coverage, just the case as presented) selected by a combination of the prosecution and defense...give them a little credit.

I hope to never be in such a precarious situation, but I'd much rather the jury in the courtroom be by judge than public opinion.
