Brace yourself, 2.  It's a golf course leveled!

 Sad

Hate to make light of it, but even I could hit that fairway now!

That's a very clear path, for sure. It was, indeed, leveled.

Lightning is ripping through here, close by. I'm surprised we still have power.

Saw on the Memphis news yesterday that a house was hit by lightning and caught fire.  The owners didn't know until neighbors called them.

Anybody know what part of Tuscaloosa that tornado touched down in? None of my family members were affected, and since they are spread out all over T-town and Northport, I am quite curious as to its path. It wouldn't surprise me if it was in Taylorville, since that area tends to really attract the storms.

By the way, did someone manage to get 2 breathing again after seeing the golf course?

Man I can't understand guys/gals people hear it round the clock place of safety or safe place. Why don't they listen and give themselves a chance to live through these storms? I hate to see a life taken in a storm but I guess we just pray and hope for peace. RTR!

Southern part of Tuscaloosa.  Watch the video on the previous page.  It shows the track and area affected.

Turns out, this is the Frank House Municipal Golf Course (and Carver Park) in Bessemer.  It's an old course.  Sad.

Fortunately, few people were injured by the tornado.  Looks like the old course took the bullet for the people of Bessemer.

The storm actually began forming in Fosters and it first touched down close to Shelton State College on Highway 69 South. This is about one mile South from where the deadly tornado started three years ago. It's route from there carried it just South of HillCrest High School then it did some big damage to Taylorwood Estates and houses on Bear Creek Rd , crossed Highway 82 to Hargrove Rd E where it did a lot of damage to the southern part of Woodland Forrest. It actually just missed Woodland Forrest Elementary, Eastwood Mid School, and Bryant High School. From there it crossed/followed I20/59 to Brookwood and on to the B'ham area.

Wow! So glad there were no fatalities associated with it. It is so remarkable how tornado tracks seem to repeat themselves. Pretty scary. T-town is for sure a true tornado alley.

Getting hammered here by the weather. Extreme lightning, very heavy, extensive rain and just came out of a tornado warning. We had very heavy winds a few minutes ago. DirecTV is out because of the weather and the power going off & on. I think I'll go back to the Keys.
