I told you all this a month ago. BTW, with all due respect, any of you that think this was his idea, have rocks in your head. The word has been put on Engstrom, too.

Only by you. Everyone else on this board or in the media thinks he will be a good addition to our team next year. I hope Jimmie Taylor at 6-10 220 can come in and play immediately like JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell did but Engstrom would still be very valuable off the bench.

ESPN kept blowing smoke up Gueye's behind. It took me an entire season to convince the majority that 9'GB was a waste of time. Hopefully, Jacobs starts next season in tip-top shape so all that will be needed is a 4-5 minute breather each half. That worries me to death--I don't think he is SEC material and should be gone soon with Gueye. But if you are relying on Engstrom for anything north of 4-5 min. a game, you must have already given up on next season, too!

There are so many unknowns going into next year with our post play I do not know what to expect. Our team needs to work their rear ends off this off season to get better. Jabobs, Pollard and the two freshmen need to be not only be practicing but working out. All of our post players need strength and conditioning to be able to handle the physical play of the SEC. Best case for us would be to have better players than Engstrom so he is just a sub off the bench.

I expect Jacobs to come back in the best shape of his life. If we have a decent S&C coach he is working with Pollard everyday to get him bigger and stronger without losing his quickness. Jimmie Taylor is 6-10 and 220. I saw an article where he said his goal is to add weight and get stronger this summer so he can play as a freshman and be physical.

I really like our front court players. If we shore up our post play we will be a very good team next year.

I think Scott Cochran works with all the athletes.

As to Gueye... CAG either has some players lined up and needs to make some room on the roster -OR- he thinks we are better off playing 4 on 5.

Either way, he needs to move into his future so we can find out what we are going to have after him. RTR!

Gueye quote from the University news release.

Quote
"I really enjoyed my time at Alabama," he said. "People Everyone except BAMAWV have been very supportive during my two years here. Since I have my degree, I just decided I wanted to leave and try and continue to get better. I love my coaches and teammates – they helped me get better. I have nothing but great memories here and I am grateful for my decision to come to the University of Alabama."

This is the key to the whole season next year. Will the players work hard to improve their shooting and stamina & can incoming freshmen make a difference. I think Engstrom, Lacey, & Cooper have to really step up next year. Jimmy Taylor would be a huge plus if he can contribute as a freshman. I only know of a couple of freshman in Tide BB history who really stepped up in their first year.

The most recent big guys that played well as a freshman was JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell. Both averaged about 10 pts. Green avg 7 rebounds in his freshman year. Green started all but 1 game.

Releford, Lacey, Cooper and Randolph all played well as freshmen. However, I think it is much tougher for a big guy.
