Moussa Gueye says he has played his last basketball game at Alabama.

The 7-foot center said Tuesday that he plans to transfer at the end of the spring semester. He will have one season of eligibility remaining and can play next season because he already will have graduated.

Interesting. I think he saw his days numbered with the return of Engstrom, the continuing development of Jacobs, and the recruitment of 2 big men, & I expect at least one more big man to be signed (hopefully).

I don't really remember but I think not everybody was glad about this big man when he first came aboard. RTR!

Oh well, as far as I know he gave it his best.  Good luck to him.

BTW, as soon as I saw the news this morning I rushed here to see WV's response...I am disappointed.

Gueye quote from the University news release.

Quote
"I really enjoyed my time at Alabama," he said. "People Everyone except BAMAWV have been very supportive during my two years here. Since I have my degree, I just decided I wanted to leave and try and continue to get better. I love my coaches and teammates – they helped me get better. I have nothing but great memories here and I am grateful for my decision to come to the University of Alabama."

All is quiet on the Western Virginia front.

I have to give him credit for his effort. He gave it everything he had when he was in the game but just didn't have the necessary skills for the game. I wish him the best.

Where is BamaWV, I haven't seen him lately. I hope he's okay. Maybe the loss of Gueye has him in a deep depression.

 Huh?

I told you all this a month ago. BTW, with all due respect, any of you that think this was his idea, have rocks in your head. The word has been put on Engstrom, too.

I was not surprised about Gueye leaving, but I am surprised to hear Engstrom might be gone. Did you read that somewhere? Plus, does this imply Grant is expecting to score some major recruits this year?  I hope the REC can take a break from setting up Auburn for an NCAA investigation and can make sure we get some big time BB recruits.

He said one possibility is Texas-Pan American, where former Alabama associate head coach Dan Hipsher last week was named the head coach.

9'GB should not rush his decision. Other schools may be interested in a guy to tackle their point guard or simply admire his refusal to sit down when he is told. 52 whistles a season for lane/bench violations is not too bad. All is forgiven for clogging up the middle and camping under the cylinder.
