I know there are not a lot of NBA fans here, but the playoffs can be interesting. Plus, there are only about 4, maybe 5 real dogs in the playoffs this year. Record-wise, the two best teams are the Bulls (62-20) and the Spurs (61-21). However, I think any of the following could be a big surprise in the playoffs: OKC Thunder, Mavericks, Magic, and maybe th Nugges.

Are the Lakers not in?  I've never heard of the OKC Thunder.

I just clicked the link.  The Lakers are in as a 2-seed.  I guess they are having a down year this time.

I never watch NBA basketball until the playoffs.  I was a big Robert Horry fan and rooted for whatever team he was on.

Oklahoma City Thunder used to be the Seattle Supersonics. They moved the franchise 2 years ago. They play a very up-tempo game and have one of the youngest teams in the NBA. The Lakers are in, but they kinda staggered into the palyoffs at the very end. Plus their great center, Bynum, got injured in the next-to-last game and he could be limited in his "game." Supposedly, it ws not serious, but I think it's the same knee he had surgery on before. Plus, I don't know if the Lakers could get by the Thunder, Spurs, or Mavericks.

I will never forget this shot.  I can remember Horry making that same shot hundreds of times over at the student rec center.  He and Sprewell would come over and shoot around sometimes when I was there.  Everybody would leave them alone and let them shoot.  They had one goal to their selves, and everyone else would just use the others.

They would practice that exact shot over and over.  One guy would be the shooter, and the other guy would bounce pass it to him, exactly the same way that rebound just bounced right to him.  He just stepped up, caught the ball, and drilled the 3-pointer just like he used to do when Sprewell passed it to him at the rec center.  After seeing him make that shot in the playoffs I felt like I was in on a little secret that very few people in the whole world knew about.

Yep, Robert Horry and that outside shooting of his. I wonder if Grant has considered asking him to give some pointers to the Tide BB players?

I would love to see him become a coach some day now that his playing days are over.  After seeing the interview with him at the SEC tourney I think he would make a great college coach.

I think the problem might be, if he handled his finances properly, he's sitting on millions of dollars from his NBA career. It's hard to be motivated when you're rich. You have o be a real self-motivator, like Saban, Stoops, etc. I know I would have a hard time working as a college assistant if I had, say $10-$15 mil in the bank.

Yeah, I'm a big Hawks fan, too, but they have actually backslid this year. Last years team was better and won 50 games. They just can't seem to get over the hump.

I got the impression from the interview that he might be motivated to mentor the college kids.  But he could do that pretty easily without taking on the headache of being a coach.  He does seem to be a little too laid back for coaching.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. He could be there for practice and maybe off season (if allowed by NCAA), he could really help some of the younger players develop. He was more than just a shooter, he was an excellent ball handler at 6"10" and could play D, plus he understands winning.

Yea I think when they got rid of Mike Bibby it hurt therm not sure why they done that, he was a leader and a great assist man at least I thought.  Joe didn't have near the year he had last year. I don't think we had up tempo like we should either. When they use to press some they looked good too. RTR!

Exacty! The point guard is your QB on the BB team. You have to have a good one in order to have a good team.  Releford at Alabama is a good example.
