Good Saturday morning!  Coffee

Rainy this morning; looks like light rain all morning, then heavy rain all afternoon.  Glad I got the work done in the woods.  I repaired a wooden bridge we have over a dry creekbed.  A tree limb had fallen on it during high winds, so I repacled a few 2X4s.  Took longer than expected.  I didn't see any panthers.

Lots of recruits visiting Bama this weekend.  We still need a couple of more CBs, a kicker, and some linemen.  Lately we've hired more coaches than we've committed recruits!

Off to Memphis this morning to buy some lumber with my buddy (to build cabinets and such).  Enjoy!
 Kiss

You sure do a lot of work for someone who is retired.  I'm still working and trying to do as little as possible.
Laughing Laughing

Yeah, but I'm paying for it today, limping around thinking of concentrating on less strenuous activities (like FISHING).

That's more like it.  Been dreaming of some of that myself.

Well, the weather isn't cooperating.  Every time there's a warm day, rain comes with it, then cold.  Is Jim Cantore still down in Pensacola??

He's been there so much, you'd think he lives there. We could always go down there and shoot him just for sport.

Good morning folks.  Light rain off and on here this morning too.  Also supposed to get harder rain this afternoon/evening.  I was hoping the weather would cooperate so that I could get out and tinker with my tractor a bit.  My dad gave me his 1939 Farmall tractor last year and I finally got it to the house last week.  My youngest son has asked me to take him for a ride on it... Funny story behind this tractor.  Dad bought it before I was born and used it to put in a garden for years.  When I was a little bitty fellow I would have to help prepare the garden and plant it, hoe the weeds out of it and help gather the vegetables when they came in.  Sometimes Dad would put the cultivators on and he would plow between the rows after the plants got big enough that they wouldn't get covered up by the cultivators.  I was always excited to see and hear that old tractor.  It was even more special for me when Dad would let me ride on his lap (and let me pretend to drive) or standing on the drawbar.  I would ask Dad at least once per year, "Dad, when you die can I have your tractor?"  I don't remember him ever answering that question but my three brothers established early on that the old tractor would come to me some day... I'll try and take a pic or two of it and post them here.

Hope you all have a great day today.  Save travels to Memphis Chech.

My Dad has a 40s-something Farmall "cub" tractor, NALT.  It's iconic.

He's also got a Massey Ferguson that he bought new about 15 years ago or so with fancy things like a front end loader, but it just don't have the character of the old cub.  It's perfect for those small garden duties like laying off rows.

BTW, I think crank starting the Farmall is on your physical therapy agenda for next week.

Wow just hearing this NALT brings back so many memories of my dad and I. I pretty much did the same thing back then I guess boys really liked farm tractors. Now days they don't know what they like other than something wrong. You all have a Blessed Day. RTR!

Got to Memphis in the heavy rain and heavy traffic.  Found the lumber yard, picked out the boards and plywood, then went to checkout.

A nice older guy behind the counter looked at my BAMA cap, and said, "I'd say WAR EAGLE, but y'all won the title this year."  I shook his hand.  Said his Dad went to Alabama, but he went to Memphis State.  "ROLL TIDE", I answered.

Good morning.  Coffee

2 popped up on the forum, then POOF... he gone.

Rain is gone, and it's going to get cooler today.  Chance of snow by week's end again.

Nice win over Oklahoma yesterday by the bb team.   Applause E-Cred

Good morning folks.  Lazy day for me yesterday.  Church this morning and then hopefully I'll get my school work done this afternoon/evening.  That is unless Mrs. Nalt has plans that I don't know about...  Youngest son was feeling bad with a fever yesterday.  Today is the same for him.  Not the flu though so I'm thankful for that...
