It took some digging, but I finally found a source (below).  The 1967 Iron Bowl wasn't televised.  Only 2 regular-season games were televised that year.

I remember the day too.  I was working at a grocery store, and carried groceries out to a car for a lady.  The sky had turned bright red at sunset, and I wondered if it was a sign that Bama had won.  They had.

I guess we were watching Howdy Doody, then?

Those were the days when only 1 or 2 games got TV coverage. The Bama radio crew of John Forney Doug Laton and Jerry Duncan was how I grew up following Bama football. My parents took the B'ham morning paper (Post Herald) and the B'ham News on Sunday. That was how I got all the stats and additional information. The Sunday afternoon Bear Bryant Show was can't miss TV for true Bama fans.

I listened to the "Run in the mud" at home alone in my basement. I preferred to get off my myself. Listening on the radio you had to pay attention, so I liked to be alone to avoid distractions. While listening I normally had a football in my hands that I was constantly flipping and spinning.

I remember when we use to go up to Cheaha Mountain to listen to the Alabama vs Tennessee game on the radio. RTR!

Ken Stabler

I think that is Pat Trammel. If it is "Snake" it is not from the "Run in the mud" we wore red helmets that day.

It's not a great pic of Snake, but the photo was identified as (in part) "2FMTcyOTQzNzg3ODM0NzQ2MDky%2Fken-stabler.png&fb_obo...", and from an Alabama archives.  I figured they knew better than me.  I didn't think it looked like Kenny either.  No, definitely not from the "Run in the Mud" game.

Another pic of Kenny (posted after his death) that might be the same day (see muddy shoulder).  But muddy under his armpit?  That's different.

The top picture looks like Stabler. The similar picture in the post above does not. When I saw the first post, I immediately thought it was not him. It looked a lot more like Trammel. Those pictures are so similar it has to be Snake.

Happy Hump Day.

We've got rain and storms coming this morning.  Hopefully it won't be severe weather.

The baseball team beat Samford 11-6.
