We had a tornado north of Oxford, MS late Thursday.  It took out numerous power poles, so thousands of homes around Oxford (including ours) were without power.  All day yesterday (Friday) we were without power, so last night we went to dinner at a friend's house.  Their house was next to campus, and never lost power.  About 8pm our power was restored.  Woot.

Did I miss anything besides a great bit of golf from JT and Spieth?  Watched the highlights last night.

Forgot to mention the baseball team won again.  Who is UIC??

Howdy folks. There were two tornados in Jackson county (county that I live in) yesterday.  Neither were a threat to my pacle thankfully but, sadly there were a couple of men who died as a result of the storms.

Today is cooler but absolutely beautiful.

I have an uncle who lives in/near Cantonment, Florida who used to claim that he and Kenny Stabler were close friends.  He never bothered to introduce him to me though...

Glad you weren't affected, NALT.

I was lucky enough to watch the Snake beat Ole Miss in 1967. Still remember the score; 21-7. I also have a hat with his autograph.

I was watching this on TV with some friends in the lobby of the Central YMCA in Montgomery. Half of us were jumping up and down in celebration.

It took some digging, but I finally found a source (below).  The 1967 Iron Bowl wasn't televised.  Only 2 regular-season games were televised that year.

I remember the day too.  I was working at a grocery store, and carried groceries out to a car for a lady.  The sky had turned bright red at sunset, and I wondered if it was a sign that Bama had won.  They had.

I think that is Pat Trammel. If it is "Snake" it is not from the "Run in the mud" we wore red helmets that day.
