Up until this past Saturday I had about 25 years of successful, safe operation of chainsaws.  I've cut small brush up to trees that measured 54" in diameter without incident.  The brush I was cutting on Saturday when I got my leg cut was about 1-1/2" in diameter...  Embarrassed Angry Banging your head against the wall.

Me too, Preacher.
I’ve cut hundreds of trees, including almost 200 on our 5 acres after the 1992 ice storm and the tornadoes (day before they hit Tuscaloosa). So far I’ve been okay.

I've never done a whole lot of chainsawing, mostly just trim work cutting off limbs and such.  I did do a whole lot of loading/unloading and stacking firewood my Dad cut when I was younger.

I was younger back in the early 90s, Preacher.  Now I just cut up downed trees and limbs mostly (like HL).  I wore out 2 chainsaws and multiple guide bars.  Those days are over.

Save your back; buy firewood or burn your old furniture!

Good Thursday morning. Getting ready to take Mrs 2 to the airport. She's flying into P'cola. I have to go to Rock Hill, which is just south of Charlotte, for the day, then I'll drive part way to P'cola. I'll drive the rest of the way in the morning. We'll return together Monday. Lot's of windshield time.  Stars

Looks like we'll have about an 85% Tua against LSU Saturday. I'll take an 85% Tua over any QB in the country. I like our chances.

Chech, safe travels to your knife show. I hope you do well.

NALT and HL, good luck with Gate 9 this morning.

So that's the story.  I think the two most dangerous times to operate a chain saw are (1) when you're first learning, and (2) after you think you've got it all figured out.

Over a few decades, I've only had two chainsaw incidents, "close calls."  No injuries.

One time when I was still learning I was on a 5 foot step latter, foolish, cutting low-lying branches off a tree.  When one branch fell and the top hit the ground, the cut part swung around and knocked the ladder out from under me.

The other time was a kick back incident.  It didn't cut my leg, but it did cut a line through my pants in the inner thigh region.  I still wear those pants, but only around the house.

Good morning.  Coffee

Hope your early-morning delivery of Mrs 2 to the airport goes smoothly, 2.  If you drank coffee, today would be an excellent day for you to stop on the way home and enjoy a cup.  And safe travels to and from the beach this weekend.

Nasty weather approaching here.  Strong storms brewing and cold behind the front.  Then Sunday another cold blast arrives.  Expected to be 32 tomorrow morning, and 25 here Saturday morning.

Yeah, I'll take Tua at 85%.  You KNOW everyone will gasp if he holds the ball too long and gets tackled.

Check this approaching rain:

The refs should make sure Tua is not targeted.

Fortunately the game isn't in Red Stick.
Or Cowpasture-Hare stadium.

It'll be VERY entertaining no matter what!
Kudos to Saban for developing the young talent and keeping us undefeated this year.

Good morning folks.  Nice morning here for now.  Rain supposed to be on it's way though...

Safe travels 2, Mrs. 2, and Chech.

Good Thursday morning, all.

Looks like it's going to be a good day to be a duck.  I have late lunch/early dinner plans with LF (not Chech's) in the middle of the heaviest rain.  Anyone else, and I would probably cancel.
