Good morning, friends.  Coffee

Football is coming up fast.  Lots of radio chatter.  As usual, the Big Ten is getting attention beyond its capability.  That's what the sports folks do every year.

The knife show was fun, but not well attended.  It was the same weekend as the Watermelon Festival in Water Valley (15 miles south).

Sounds like Runt is becoming famous, NALT.  Aren't you glad to be home!

Good morning folks.  Went over to Decatur last night for the Ronnie McDowell concert.  It was awesome.  My son Runt actually sang a verse from an Elvis Presley song for Ronnie.  He was incredible.  Ronnie was too... Wink

Sorry to hear about the shootings.  So sad...

That's pretty awesome, NALT.  Is Runt an aspiring musician?  How did he get that opportunity?

Also, I assume that's the same concert that The Beasley Brothers opened.  A friend of mine has a son-in-law in that band.  I've heard a bit of their music.  I hope you enjoyed them as well.

That is the concert that we went to.  Runt is aspiring to be an Elvis Presley tribute artist.  During the concert one of Ronnie's merchandise people brought a few of his prints onstage for him to give away.  He pulled one out and showed the audience, a painting of a very young Elvis looking at the adult Elvis.  There was a woman standing at the stage hoping that Ronnie would give it to her.  Runt walked up there wearing his "Elvis-like" outfit including a cumber bun that came from one of his Elvis outfits.  Ronnie saw him and told the lady that he would give her a copy but that he needed to give that particular one to this young boy.  So right there he started talking to Runt asking him questions about his interest in Elvis.  He asked Runt if he sings any Elvis songs to which he said yes.  Ronnie asked him to sing one for him so he just started belting it out.  He sang an entire verse for Ronnie.  The band even accompanied him.  I had not heard Runt sing that particular song before so I was blown away as to just how good he was.  Runt told me yesterday that "that might have been his big break" into the business...

There used to be an Elvis Conference in Oxford each August during the 1990s.  But after several years it got too weird.  There was "Elvez, the Mexican Elvis", a transvestite Elvis, etc.  So they moved it to Memphis.  My next-door neighbor does Elvis impersonations at church events.

Not sure if the conference is still ongoing in Memphis, but Runt might check it out.

Preacher, are you sure you have cancer?  If you are going to a doctor that looks like that you may have something totally different...  Panic

Mrs. Nalt did this video from Runt's back (not sure why?)  but here is his song with Ronnie McDowell.

That was truly fantastic, NALT! Runt's got some real talent.  Applause E-Cred

Sorry the knife show wasn't a big hit, Chech, and I'm REALLY sorry your cancer doctor looks like that, Preacher. I just hope his skills are more impressive than his looks.

We are back in SC now. My grandson's birthday was a big success, and he is healing very well from his surgery.

Back to the grindstone today.

Good morning.

Glad y'all made it safely back to the swamp, 2.  Nose to the grindstone; you're back to the grind.  Better you than me.

Runt is a talent for sure.  NO WAY I had the self confidence to stand before a crowd like that at age 14-15, nor did I have the voice for it.  Kudos to him for both.

Guess the Braves were off last night.

Guess NALT isn't coming to mow my grass.  I need to do that today.

Good morning folks.  It is foggy here this morning.  Runt has an appointment with his gastroenterologist this morning.  Thanks for the comments regarding Runt.  He really does have a very nice singing voice...

Nope, the Braves played Minnesota last night.  The Twins won in a walk-off HR 5-3.
