Well Friday night we got hit by lightning again and it fried my modem. Centurylink is sending me another one cause I have the insurance. It will be Tuesday when I get it and I don't know if I can put it in or not.

Since you seem to attract lightning, Preacher, why not try a lightning rod.  Anyway, whatever happened to lightning rods?

They went out with divining rods.

Well we use them on special buildings when I was doing electrical work but I have a submersible pump now. RTR!

Tall buildings still use lightning arresting rods.  The building I work in has them all around the building roof.  Also, a submersible water pump can and still will get ruined by a lightning strike...

Thanks for the information, NALT.  I've asked the question over the years and only provoked shrugs.

Good morning.  Coffee

I managed to get all of my chores done yesterday, including having a car checkup and oil change at the Toyota pacle.  Today I mow the grass and work in the yard, albeit another HOT day.

It's been a good month already.  From July 2-8, with 15 of the 49 national commitments going to the SEC, Alabama picked up five commitments.  Bama is now ranked the No. 1 class in the Rivals team rankings for 2019.  List of latest commitments here:

That’s great news. CNS gettin’ after it! Been 10 days since I’ve walked. I was surprised how easy it was this morning. I feel a good day coming on.

Good morning folks.  Beautiful day dawning here this morning but I'm sure it will be extremely hot later today.  After work I am supposed to help my neighbor cut down a dead tree that is standing perilously close to our power lines.  He contacted the power company who originally agreed to remove it until they figured out that it isn't a main line but rather a residential service line.  $1000 to remove it?  No thank you.  Almost makes me wish that a storm would roll through and blow it down on the power line so they would have to fix the problem anyways...   Angry

Yeah, every power company is different in policies, but my BIL had the same problem.  He called them, and they rejected the idea.  Then he insisted, and they came out for a look.  They decided that it'd be cheapest to just cut it down, rather than wait for it to fall on the lines (as you said).  They finally cut it for free.

NALT maybe you all should wait. Hate to see you loose power though. Hey it is already hot here and I am in the store where the A/C is working. I am almost at 25,000 posts may conquer it today. God Bless CRS and all members. RTR!

Having a cup of coffee, then I'm off to Reno to visit friends and go fishing.  Been too long!

Y'all watch the fort.

Beautiful morning here. I have a Navy Reserve lady coming over to help Mrs Dottie clean house today. She is very sweet to say she would do this. RTR!

Good Thursday morning! Gonna be a hot one today with some possible rough weather this afternoon. We need the rain, but can do without the “severe”.

Heard from Chech last night, apparently, monsoon created dust storms kept him from landing in Reno, and he ended up in Phoenix. Something about a kid screwing something up too. Oh well, maybe he’ll get to Reno today.

Good morning folks.  Going to be hot today but there is also a chance of rain this afternoon.  I'm going to try and get my mowing done this week after work today and tomorrow.  That will free up my Saturday.  Fingers crossed...Safe travels for Chech...
