Mrs. Nalt actually feeds the wildlife around our home.  She regularly has several coons, some opossum, red fox, and deer that come around at feeding time.  The coons will actually come up on our porch looking for her if she isn't out by the time they think she should be feeding them.

My stepfather used to do the same thing. Drove my mother crazy.

Nalt, be real careful about feeding some of the wild animals like raccoon and fox as they are know to be rabies carriers quite often. I just read a news article last week where two men were attacked by a fox and both were bitten. I'm guessing both will have to the take the rabies shots. Racoons can become a huge nuisance as well once they get used to being fed

Indeed, NALT.  If your Mrs wants 4 more raccoons she can have mine!

Good Morning!

I recently stayed in a cabin outside of Gatlinburg, and while enjoying the night view from the porch, a raccoon came up and sat next to my rocker.  I literally could have patted him on the head he was so close.  Instead, I chased him off.  Really, it was for his own good.  There were two stuffed raccoons and a coon pelt in the cabin.

Big event of the day: I need to go by the bank and get a new bank card.  Mine has a crack across it, and it won't work in the ATM now.

Just reported that 7 are out now.  Back in the 1970s I did a lot of cave exploring in West Virginia (I was thin back then).  Crazy hobby.  Can't imagine being trapped for 9 days without contact with anyone.

I can't imagine how those boys felt sitting in absolute darkness for 9 days, without even knowing if someone was looking for them.  It seems like a miracle to me that they even found them.

Well Friday night we got hit by lightning again and it fried my modem. Centurylink is sending me another one cause I have the insurance. It will be Tuesday when I get it and I don't know if I can put it in or not.
Miss you all the last few days. My water pump got hit again also and to get a submersible pump the guy wanted 1800.00 for it but he got me a used one almost new and it was 475.00. God really blessed us. We are praying for the girl missing over at Tallapoosa and the boys in tyhe cave. RTR!

I can't imagine how those boys felt sitting in absolute darkness for 9 days, without even knowing if someone was looking for them.  It seems like a miracle to me that they even found them.

I suspect they saved their lights as long as possible.  They'd all stopped at a store for supplies before entering the cave, so they likely had new batteries and some snacks.

Also fortunate that their bicycles were outside the cave, so it was obvious they were inside.  But kudos to those British cavers who found them; "Brilliant"!!
