Good morning folks.  We got a LOT of rain yesterday afternoon/evening.  Very nice pics Chech.  I'd love to visit that part of Virginia someday.  Now, what is this "retirement" concept that you guys are talking about?  I sort of feel like it has to do with not working for a living any longer.  Not anything that I'll ever get to try.  I'll probably be the guy that is found dead at his desk when everyone else finally starts arriving at work mid-morning...
Sad

We may need to cheer up NALT!
Ok, I’ll give up my spot. Take him out west with you.
That's awful nice of you 2 but the issue is the fact that the kids still rely on me.  It would help in so many ways if I could get them to start eating grass/weeds.  I'd be able to save a lot of $$ if I didn't have to purchase so many groceries...  Cry

NALT, you need to pass your grass cutting skills down to your young'uns, so when opportunities such as this arrive, you can up and go.  Cool
Oh, trust me, I DO have the kids help with grass mowing.  In fact, I rarely ever mow my own weeds.  That job is reserved for the kids to do.  Problem with that is that they don't like it that I won't let them use my riding mower to cut the grass weeds and they don't like mowing with the push mower.  I wouldn't have a problem with them using the riding mower except for the yard slopes off hard into the woods from where the septic pad was built and the riding mower would get stuck if it didn't turn over... So my refusal to let them use that one is a safety issue... They still don't like it so I have to be here to make them get it done...

Undecided
Actually, true HL.  That's why I decided to retire; only a few years left to enjoy these trips west.  I was standing in a Wyoming stream, and realized I couldn't do such strenuous hiking for many more years.  Within a year I'd retired!  True.  Been spending more time out west ever since.
Well done.  You can't take anything with you, and the amount of time that you can really enjoy life to the fullest doesn't last forever.

You are correct, sir!

All kidding aside, people who retire after age 70 are usually too old to enjoy travel and outdoor activities.  LF and I saw that on the Viking cruises in Europe.  Many of those folks lamented that they just couldn't enjoy the travel due to health issues.

Last summer one of my buddies arrived in Yellowstone, and immediately announced, "I'm here to tell you boys that age 70 comes like a brick wall."  He was barely able to walk and fish with us.  You'd think walking on uneven ground was an easy task, but as you age it gets tough.

At least I always knew I could outrun him if the bears came at us!!

So now the truth comes out as to why you don't carry bear spray.  Laughing

PLUS, last year we discovered that the motel has a stash of it.  Since you can't carry it on planes or in baggage, motels usually have a supply.  We get it free from them.

Here's a funny.  There was an article in the Yellowstone newspaper advising parents to NOT USE BEAR SPRAY AS REPELLENT.

"DO NOT SPRAY IT ON CHILDREN."  Parenting is worrisome.  Folks were apparently spraying their own children with the stuff, and many went to the hospital last year.

Good Friday morning. Not raining this morning so I’ll get my walk in. We work half days on Friday now until August. Will give me a chance to get the condo back together since the new floor has been put in. I guess I’ll be on my knees all weekend.

You and Preacher!

LF is off to Arkansas today, so I'll spend the weekend packing and watching golf, baseball, and softball.

Good morning folks.  Beautiful sunrise here this morning.  Love me a nice sunrise, especially when I get to enjoy it coming up over the ocean.  Get you some good knee pads 2 if you are going to be doing a bunch of stuff on your knees.  Hope you enjoy the day getting ready for your trip out west Chech.  I'm sure you've already said but, when do you leave to go out there?

Cool knives, Chech.

NALT, I do have some good knee pads. With my knobby azzed knees, I couldn't lay baseboards any other way.
