Good morning folks.  Rain and possibly severe weather is on it's way to North Alabama.  Here is a prediction from a Phd in Huntsville that is a weather hobbyist.  He is actually more accurate than the local weather guys that get paid to forecast the weather...

Forecast models continue to suggest that conditions are coming together

 to produce the first real threat for severe weather this year to the TN

 valley tomorrow (Monday) afternoon.


 Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail are likely to
 develop tomorrow afternoon, moving east into the evening hours.  There
 may well be tornado activity in the stronger/severe cells.



 Greatest threat area appears to be over northern AL into south-central

 TN.  Here the combination of instability & wind shear could combine for

 a more definite supercell/tornado threat - will have to watch for that.


 Otherwise both NWS HSV & NWS BHM are mentioning the strong lift in the

 storms which suggest large hail production.  Both weather offices are

 mentioning possibility of golf ball to tennis ball size hail in the

 stronger storms.



 Latest word from the SPC:

 "Tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail are expected across parts of
  Middle Tennessee, much of northern Alabama, far northeast Mississippi
  and northwest Georgia.  A strong tornado or two is possible during the
  late afternoon."



 This continues to be a developing situation - it may or may not be as

 bad as currently indicated by the forecast models.  However there

 remains sufficient concern to warrant careful attention to the weather

 tomorrow afternoon.


 Expect a tornado watch to be issued tomorrow around midday (if not

 before).

They are also now saying that we could expect hail from golfball size up to 3" in diameter.  Mrs. Nalt is scrambling to find a place to shelter our Dodge Durango and my dad's Suburban...

Super-cell storms rolled through North Alabama this afternoon/evening.  There were at least three tornado's too.  One of them left damage from almost the Mississippi state line until almost the Georgia state line.  The other two were minor tornados in comparison... We got a little rain but not very much at all.  So thankful for dodging that stuff.

Glad y'all missed it, NALT. I have the Weather Channel on now and they said there is severe weather in the Fruithurst area. Take cover Preacher!

Not exactly a banner day, but yours truly caught a couple of nice pompanos with the help of Chech cheering me on. He's the photographer in case you hadn't guessed. We may not have caught a lot, but Peg Leg Pete's never stood a chance against us yesterday.

Good morning folks.  The storms past last night and left us with very cool temps.  It definitely DOES NOT feel like the 1st day of spring...I hope Preacher faired safely last night.  Chech, if you are fishing today then good luck.  If you are driving back home then safe travels...

Good morning and yes we are fine. JSU campus is not. Pete Matthews Coliseum got hit bad. Daughter said it killed 2 they know of just so grateful the kids were on spring break. Where is Chechem is he ok and SC ok? Anybody heard? RTR!
