It wasn't rain, but it was wet! 
We had a sprinkle of rain last night about 10PM.  Not much, but maybe enough to keep down the fire danger.  Our woods are crispy dry.  You can sit on our deck and hear squirrels and deer walking a quarter-mile away! 

Most of the 'experts' who earlier predicted an LSU upset have now changed their minds.  The daily football shows are filled with prognosticators ready to crown Alabama.   

Somehow the injury bug has hit Alabama.  If we don't have further injuries we should be okay, but we don't need to lose any more RBs, linemen, or DBs.  Just make that 'anyone'.

Basketball got started last night with an exhibition win over Faulkner 91-71. I watched the 1st half on ESPN3. We over matched them which was expected. We had 5 guys in double figures. Ingram looks good. Overall we played well but we need to see if our rebounding and points in the paint can continue against better competition. Biox shows 10K at the game. I did not see that many in the seats.

High school playoffs got started last night. Austin beat Pell City in the first round (6A) 41-19 to advance. Austin improves to 8-3 on the year.

I'm back in P'cola for a couple of days, then it's back to SC for 2 weeks. Busiest open enrollment I've ever been a part of. Got to take care of home business today. Tomorrow will be my down day, then back to SC on Sunday. I keep thinking back to Danny Glover in "Lethal Weapon"; I'm too old for this sh**.

BIG day today.  Bama should roll over LSU, barring any uncharacteristic turnovers. 
By the time we play, Navy will have a win over Notre Dame, Vandy will have beaten the Aubs, and Arky will have a win over Florida!   

No hope for Nebraska!
