Good morning everybody. Happy November. We had kids come by the thrift shop yesterday with church people escorts and the police of Heflin riding beside them and guarding them from traffic. This was done that our children don't have to take a chance on what might happen out at night. I thought it was very good. Well no rain in sight and it is so dry our septic tank is almost dry. lol, RTR!

Good morning folks.  Last night made 16 straight years that we had 0 (zero) trick-or-treaters.  Of course, we do live out in the country, at the end of a long, dark, narrow driveway up in the woods...  Cool  Of course too, we did take the kids out and they got a bunch of candy...I guess this is a bad time for me to be trying to lose a few pounds, huh?  Angry

The few trick-or-treaters we've had over the years are bent over sucking air when we open the door.

...and you have a steep driveway...

The Thrift Shop is where Mrs Dottie volunteers for the Cleburne Baptist Association. They own it, and they were going to close it so they ask us if we would try it and keep it open for them. They take the money and buy medicine for people in the county that can't afford it, and buy gas for heat if someone is in need. If a home is burned by fire the family comes up and we give them 3 outfits per family member free. I wanted to do it but my back wouldn't let me ALL the time so I go down and help out when I feel better and can sit there for a while. It's a good feeling to be able to help others, and they pay our light bill for her service. I guess my not being like I really want to is the reason I haven't mentioned it that and not really into all the hoopla about the good stuff, you know what I mean I am sure. Thanks for asking though. That is a beautiful store you show there gosh our is cramped and so overstocked it is hard to get around sometimes. RTR!

#1

LSU suddenly got quiet yesterday.  No loud-mouth predictions, no chatter about their future, and not much news from their practices.  They scared?

Preacher, thanks for clarifying the THRIFT STORE, and thanks for your volunteer work.  Good man!

Another beautiful fall day.  But today arrive the clouds, and a chance of rain tomorrow.  Just a brief shower, if anything at all.  Hope you get rain (if you want it).

Your graciously welcome Chechem. We need rain very bad. I ask an older gentleman last evening if he being around 78 ever remember it being this dry here in Cleburne CO. in his lifetime? He say a frank "NO." This is scary dry. Our main river here that feeds the watersheds the Big Tallapoosa can be walked across at points and not get feet wet on rocks. We have a well for our water but it seems to still be doing OK so far. Right now we haven't cut grass or seen rain since the first week of August, and the Weather Channel shows no rain insight till at least the 14th of Nov. Yall have a Blessed day and pray for the men in the explosion in Shelby Co. They all lived over here at Heflin, and the town is in a turmoil. The man that owned the company is a good man even though rich, has always helped the town, the people and everything. Brothers and sisters it is a really sad thing. They have not found the body of the Trac-Hoe operator yet. RTR!

Seeing this, this morning shocked me. Really because of how good the Indians was playing from what I could find out. Also, I had ask the LORD not long ago to let me live long enough to see the CUBS win a WS before I died. It feels strange but I have been to the Mountain Top twice now. My only other desire to see is #17 put on the mantle or in the case. I would like to see 3 in a row for Alabama but I don't see that happening from us or anybody. It is just to hard to do although we have the staff to do it but I don't think we can keep the players for 4 years it would take to do it.
Sure is nice this morning. Hope everybody is having a great Thursday. I would ask you all to still remember the families around here that their folks got killed and died from the Gas fire in Shelby Co. God Bless America. I love this nation and everybody here. RTR!
