Prayers that God will hold off but if not then pray the journey through the rest of this pilgrimage is an easy one. We got more hard rain yesterday. Even got one spot of green grass in the yard now. RTR!

Heidelberg today. Beautiful part of Europe.

I'll post some pics when we get to a stronger wifi area. We're on the Rhine, so our signal depends on the local towns.

The beer is nice. Yesterday we had lunch in the "Red Ox" in Heidelberg. Mamie Eisenhower, Marilyn Monroe, and Mark Twain had all been there before us (insert your own joke).  Quite a history. The US troops were 'stuck' there after the Germans blew the bridge; photos of them posing in same restaurant.

Today we're in France (down the Rhine).  Very nice French accents among the local barmaids.

More later. Been spreading plenty of Roll Tides!

I was just making a joke because the thread was locked and would not allow new posts earlier today.  But, like you, I mostly just read this thread.

Today we will tour the Colmar Pocket battlefield between Germany and France. It's where Audie Murphy won his medal. Ricky would enjoy this tour. WWII winter of 44-45; cold and deep snow; Black Forest conditions. 8000 Americans died in three months of fighting.

I'm eager to see the sights, cemeteries, and museums. I know; take pics!

Good morning folks.  Chech, that sounds like it would be amazingly interesting.  I have never had a strong desire to leave the good-ol U.S.A but if I ever did I would love to visit Normandy and visit some of the cemeteries where our guys are resting...

Reading this made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Audie Murphy was an amazing guy.

It is funny you should say this Chechem. "To Hell and Back" is my all time favorite movie. I've seen it so much I know all the words and parts by heart. I do however, remember the biggest part of this movie, it's the reason I went into the Army myself. I still love this movie today. Hey Chechem hope you have a great time and be safe.
It is going to be hot here again today. Looking for a dab of rain again. Most likely it is going to be another Blessing. RTR!

At least 60 dead from what appears to be a terrorist attack in Nice, France. Prayers for the afflicted.  Pray

I sure hope Chech wasn't there.
