At least 17 people were injured in an early morning shooting at a bar in downtown Tuscaloosa.

A man entered Copper Top in Temerson Square near Fourth Street and 23rd Avenue around 1 a.m.  and fired into the bar, according to a witness.

Seventeen people were treated at DCH Regional Medical Center, which was put on lockdown after the shooting. Two people were in critical condition early this morning, according to a nursing supervisor at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Meanwhile.... Here in Ocala yesterday, two thugs (one with a gun) walk into an internet cafe and attempt to rob the place.  A 71 year old guy sitting in the back with a concealed weapons permit shoots & wounds both of the thugs.

I'm not a fan of guns, and I think what that guy did could have resulted in a net loss. But with that said, I hate armed criminals even more, and truly enjoyed watching that guy have at them. He crossed the line a little when he shot at them when they were out the door, but hey, if you are going to err on one side or the other......

Wrong. Gunfire would have been fired at one direction, at the guy with the rifle, since I am not aware of too many people in bars with rifles. People are not stupid and can figure things out pretty fast.

A dangerous minority of people are stupid. And few of the rest are that fast.

You propagate a fairytale, hollywood, picture of what happens when a bunch of amateurs start firing guns in crowded places. So no one is going to miss and hit one of the terrified people fleeing for their lives behind the perpetrator, or hit someone running through their line of site? Are any of them trained to simultaneously site their target while watching their peripheries? Do they even know to keep both eyes open?
