Quote
The second seed Alabama softball team bounced back in a big way as it downed four seed Oklahoma, 8-6, Tuesday night at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. The win propels the Crimson Tide into its first ever NCAA title game. The victory improves Alabama's record to 59-8 while Oklahoma drops to 54-9.

Sophomore pitcher Jackie Traina earned the win, improving to a nation leading 41-3 on the year, and added two hits and three RBI. Traina threw a complete game, giving up the six runs on nine hits while striking out eight batters.

Alabama knocked out USA Softball Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts in the fourth inning, dropping her to 37-8 on the season. Ricketts struck out five batters but gave up six runs-just two earned-on three hits.

UA took advantage of four Sooner walks and an Alabama record six hit by pitches, needing only four hits to plate eight runs. Kaila Hunt drove in a run, giving her 77 RBI on the year while senior Amanda Locke drove in three to move her season total to 55.

Both schools appear to have the same colors which is cool to me.  I did notice that the "visitors" team won both games so far wearing the crimson uniform tops.  I hope Bama gets to wear the crimson tops again tonight so hopefully they will have that helping them.  Definitely going to have to play their best tonight to bring home the trophy...

They flipped a coin last night to see who would be the home team today.  Alabama won, so we will not be wearing the crimson uniforms tonight.

After the bottom of the 7th last night, I'm glad Bama gets the last bat.

I was glad to see the bottom of the 7th.  We still got the win, and now we have our minds right.  Now our girls won't come waltzing in there today thinking OU is just going to hand them the trophy after that 6 1/2 inning beat down.  They are going to have to bring the fight, just like they did last night.

I hope that 6'-6" manly looking girl can't find the strike zone again tonight.

Sounding like a good possibility of a postponement due to rain.

She looks like her dad could have been one of the Geico cavemen.

I anticipate that will be the case.  She has been having some control issues since Sunday that I know of, and they have gotten worse during the Bama games.  When we crowd the plate and take away that inside pitch she is much easier to deal with.

She is 37-8 on the year. That is a good record but with her velocity and ball movement she should have a better record than that. (Traina is 41-3) I suspect she has control issues often. They jerked her quicker than I expected last night. The coach must have seen this before. Our hitters crowding the plate certainly rattled her some.

Yes, I was surprised they took her out.  I think they saw her about to come off the rails and they wanted to nip it in the bud before that happened so maybe she might still have some confidence coming in to the game tonight.

Rain would help the J-train a little. That manly pitcher for OU needs a testicular test.
