Arkansas has released the letter in which Athletic Director Jeff Long informed Bobby Petrino he was no longer coach at Arkansas.

Some notable contents:

•Long closes by writing: “I recognize that you are a very talented football coach, but the University may not disregard your conduct or sacrifice its integrity, reputation and principles.”

•Petrino is fired for violating Section 14(f) of his contract: “Otherwise engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the University, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of Head Football Coach or which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the University or UAF’s athletics programs in any way.”

•Long writes: “Your conduct and actions in this matter have generated voluminous negative media stories and opinions, within Arkansas and nationally, that have harmed the reputation of the University of Arkansas and our athletics programs. We are now faced with the task of restoring the reputation of our institution and our athletics programs that many individuals and teams have worked hard to build over the years.

•Petrino’s $20,00 gift to Jessica Dorrell came before she was hired as student athlete development coordinator and was used to purchase a black Acura.............Click here for link

Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player, was a Razorback Foundation fundraiser before her hiring as the football team's student-athlete development coordinator by Petrino on March 28. Her salary is $55,735.

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long said Petrino gave Dorrell a gift of $20,000 before her hiring, and phone records show the two exchanged more than 4,300 text messages and nearly 300 phone calls over the past seven months...........Click here for link
