Up until last week's announcement, Alabama was thought to have room for just one new signee, and most believed Grant was focusing his efforts on Mississippi-native Devonta Pollard, a five-star prospect considered to be among the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the nation. Pollard visited Tuscaloosa over the weekend, and while the 6-foot-7 forward has yet to tip his hand regarding a favorite, the Crimson Tide are among his top four teams along with Missouri, Texas and Georgetown.
Pollard remains Alabama's top recruiting target for the 2012 class but the departures of Mitchell and Hankerson open up two more spots on the roster that can now be filled in the 2012 late signing period, which officially begins Wednesday, April 11.
