NCAA Tournament In the Game

Baylor and NC are dominating their games so far.  Both up by double digits, though Baylor game goes back and forth over that line with 5 minutes left.

Later tonight is the Kentucky v. Indiana rematch game, on CBS.  TBS is carrying Gottfried's NCSt v. Kansas.

Baylor beating Xavier by 10 with 3:45 left.

Ohio has cut NC's lead to 4, with 15:30 left

Ohio now has the lead over UNC by 2 with 3 minutes left.

NC and Ohio go into overtime. 

NC now up by 5 with 2 minutes left.

Kentucky v. Indiana about to start on CBS.

Just got back from the Friday-night auction.  LF was chewing fingernails over UNC. 
But they won!

Not much "D" in the Indiana-UK game. A track meet so far.

Kentucky leading by 3 at half. 

Glad to hear LF is happy.

Officiating is abominable. Refs want Indiana to stay close even though Kentucky is outplaying them. Refs brought a 13 point lead to a 9 point lead on back to back terrible calls.

KY made their last 16 Free Throws, effectively snuffing out the foul fest.

Kansas v. NC State turned out to be a down-to-the-wire game, with Kansas winning 60-57.  NC State had the ball with 25 secs left down by 1 point and shooting for the lead, but couldn't get the ball in the basket.  Kansas then scored a basket, and NC State couldn't execute two separate 3-point plays.  (Kansas was fouled on the 1-1 but missed the first shot, so NCSt had two possessions to score, at 16 secs and <3 secs.)  

On the first attempt, the NCSt player stepped out of bounds catching a cross-court pass.  The play did result in the shooter open for the 3-point attempt, but the pass was long causing the player to step on the line.

The second attempt was the familiar throw the ball down the court, have a player catch it and toss it to the shooter for the 3 point attempt, but the inbounds pass was off target, and the player catching the ball turned around and chunked it at the basket, when instead he might have dropped the ball to the open shooter.

So anyway, Gottfried calls some decent looking plays but the players don't execute in the end.  Still not bad for his first season at NCst.
