CMG is starting a freshman on the mound tonight, it will be a very interesting season this year. If these young pitchers can get off to a good start, I like Bama's chances.

I think it may take getting some games under their belts for them to find themselves, but I'd love to see those young pictures get off to a good start.

Gametime for Saturday's game has been moved up due to incoming rain.

We have the true freshman on the mound. It is a big step from HS to college but CMG thinks he is ready. He comes to Alabama highly recruited. I hope he has a good outing and get some confidence going for him.

The talk so far has been we will be a better hitting team this year. CMG has said that does not mean more HR's but expect more doubles with line drives hitting the outfield gaps. I am ready to see what the new bats will do. It has to help. Nike is out of the college bat business for now anyway. We should be a good offensive team.

We need a good strong series and get this year started right.

There is no score and no hits for either team after 2 1/2 innings. Bama coming to bat in the bottom of the 3rd. No score 0-0.

FAU leads 1-0 with Bama batting in the bottom of the 5th. Come on Bama. We need some hits.

Now 5-0 FAU.

Our starting pitching was good. He gave up one run through 6 innings. Our reliver, Pilkington, gave up 4 runs in the 5th. A bigger concern is we have 2 hits and 0 runs batting in the 6th. We trail 5-0.

We play again tomorrow at 10:00am.

Jamos was at the game and said early on that Bama was hitting the ball hard, but right at someone. It's a young team, tomorrow's another day.

Yeah, just got in from the game and I got cold. If not for a bad throw by the third baseman on a two out routine ground ball Bama wins this game. I like the lefty that started the game, he knows how to move the ball around on the batters. FAU is a good baseball team, or seemed that way tonight, they really go up to the plate swinging and play pretty good D.

Alabama is struggling again today against FAU. We are down 7-1 in the 8th. I think FAU has a good team but this is not a good way for us to start the season.
