I really hated to see this. One of the great catchers of all time, and one of my favorite players growing up. God bless the Carter family.

Hated to see this too.  I had not heard of his battle with cancer.

It was hard to not like Gary Carter if you were any type of baseball fan at all.  Guy seemed to love the game and played it in a hard-nosed fashion, which is true of any good catcher.  I believe at one point he'd been behind the plate for more MLB games than any catcher in history.  Pudge or someone may have broken that record by now.

 Sad, I agree with you Hannibal. He was a man that stood tall in life and in baseball. Pray God's Blessings on his family. RTR!
