The University of Alabama went through the second of two spring practices in shorts and helmets Wednesday. Here were some observations from practice:

*** Defensive end Ed Stinson continued to work with the first group of defensive linemen. Stinson moved from the Jack linebacker spot near the end of last season and has added a significant amount of weight to accommodate his position move.

*** While Stinson has moved from Jack LB to end, Anthony Orr is doing the reverse. The redshirt freshman continued to work with the Jacks and even got some drillwork dropping into coverage. For the moment, veteran Alex Watkins is working behind starter Courtney Upshaw at the Jack spot
